Re: Rochester

I would definitely call it hideous. Looks like public housing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oakwood_Broadway_Plaza

Re: Rochester

Is it just me, or is that beyond ugly? I don't exactly call it pretty. The style is brutalistic in nature. Slap on some colored panels and it would be somewhat reminiscent of Cedar-Riverside. Not exactly a resounding endorsement. Do I oppose it, not at all. I would try to add more glass where ever ...

Northwest Bank? I find it funny that south of East Town is the West Bank.

Re: Rochester

I remember that corner being the Blondell (sp) Hotel. I'm not sure what one of the above mentioned it's called now. Been many decades as I used to deliver to it. I really like the proposal and hope it goes through.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

If anything all the roads around the stadium should be changed to rival teams or possibly Chicago will change it's name in accordance to the team that's played that week but the rest of the year remain Chicago. Sort of as a tribute to the rival being on the road and then send em packing.

Cool, that was my hope. Makes sense to offer this as that has been what I have advocated for the last decade and a half.

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St

None the less, something I've wanted for the area for 26 years. A small Target to meet the needs of the locals without adding tons of vehicular traffic.

Does anyone know if in these smaller stores you can order something there or online and pick it up there the next day?

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St

I totally forgot about the Target aspect. Something I hope mimics much of the downtown store as far as options. Not sure of size comparisons.

Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion

I've known Phil for 26 years. He's a good man who raised children on his own and fights for his property values as anyone else would. Do I agree with him on this issue not necessarily but then again His house is just a couple south from the hotel. I understand. Do we not get a hotel because of a few...

Re: Rochester

Don't think the Saudi's have as easy access to cash as they did a few years ago with the low oil prices. Not to say that they could not bankroll it. Things just take more time now as they have to watch their investment spending a bit more than they used to. I see the Rochester investment, due to be...

^^When I was in basic training, the 2 groups in my squad were from Wisconsin/Minnesota and Mississippi/Louisiana and I always thought it was a bit difficult to understand a southerner but one guy I recall kept asking me to repeat myself, eventually stating I talked too fast and he surmised that it w...

My sister has lived in Old Frontenac for the past 30 years. Along with much of her husbands family nearby. She used to live in New Frontenac. Gotta love it, new and old and you could practically blink and drive past both.

Re: "City" "Place" - Woodbury

I over reacted. I'm just happy to see this space being used again after so many years. It's not perfect but it certainly will have more life to it for more hours of the day then the previous use. It's too bad they didn't throw in a few housing components.

Ah, I do see 2 office components here after all and now that the State Farm building is gone I can see where they can squeeze in a few more. http://m.bizjournals.com/twincities/blo ... pment.html
