Re: Sports: Pro & Con

I agree with both of you. I found the article to be spot on in its non-condonement of the way AP punished his son, but also addresses very well how the culture of corporeal punishment has been created by racial, social, and economic pressures.

Re: Uptown Restaurant News

Revitalization ≠ Gentrification. Once you understand that we can have an intelligent conversation. The majority of what I read in your comments is vitriol, anger, and superiority. It is your intent to convey these emotions? I would have to agree with EOst in this argument. One person's revitalizati...

What's new that is happening at the beach that hasn't been happening there for years? Legit question as I do not know.

Delta's SKY magazine did a profile on MN in the most recent issue. I thought it was a fun read.

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image

I would argue that's due to cultural mindsets, of which I am also guilty, that lead people to think it's ok for women to like men's sports it's not as acceptable for men to like women's sports. I consider the Lynx to be major, and I would caution folks to be careful when saying they are not. It may ...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Also, isn't this just far-side boarding, the same configuration that people have been advocating for buses? This isn't meant to be confrontational, but why would it be favorable for buses and not trains?

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image

Is there a hashtag for easy searching/aggregation? While fully realizing that the team is the Minnesota Vikings, would it kill the business community and the NFL to sell this as the Minneapolis Superbowl?? I'm going to cringe every single time I hear "the Superbowl is coming to Minnesota"...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Refuge islands rock. So much better than hawks, etc. Just take one lane at a time, and it channelizes conflict points so drivers make eye contact. They are very humanizing, and hawks are very dehumanizing (IMOObv) What are hawks in this context? I've also heard porkchop and was curious about that a...

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)

David, I thought the choice was less based in money and more about haveing two station so close together. I could see having both though. I think the Plymouth Ave station would be a bigger draw to the park since it's right by the Chalet. Also, I'm fine with the routing along the park, but I REALLY w...
