Re: East 38th Street & 38th St Station Development
Interestingly, that document mentions a large apartment building to be constructed where the ADM mill is across 38th. Anyone seen this elsewhere? New project or stalled old one? A new apartment building planned for 3716 Dight Ave S will include 500 units, of which 125 will be restricted to renters ...

Re: East 38th Street & 38th St Station Development
Metro Transit applied for Regional Solicitation federal funding to reconfigure 38th St Station and add some transit oriented development. In some ways, the proposal looks similar to 46th St Station in terms of a development surrounded by bus stops. It appears they've had some operational issues wit...

A shady place, but I still went there for my cheap, junk food needs at times. RIP.

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
We don’t have any Metro Transit police anymore. It’s really rare to see them and if you do, they’re sitting in their car.

https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2022/12/06/hilton-minneapolis-foreclosure-auction.html I wouldn't mind seeing the conference portion of this demolished. No idea who's going around buying hotel+conference models right now. If it's in foreclosure, I'm sure someone will scoop it up for a b...

I use it, but not as much as I used to. The green bikes are pretty terrible. Hope they find a sponsor and St Paul.

Hopefully we get some education funding. I understand that they also serve as community centers in some cases, but the suburban sport places are really nice. That being said, I can walk to Roosevelt from my house and can’t get into the track. Seems like we could create some better community here… So...

Great to see Fargo embracing the downtown life. Hopefully Moorhead is doing the same. It’s been over 5 years since I’ve been up there.

When I was in La Quinta CA in the spring I had to call someone at Walmart to unlock the golf gloves. Deodorant and toothpaste weren’t locked.

I’m not upset that we’re losing a chain restaurant. But I would rather have a chain than an empty space. I really wish our liquor laws weren’t so silly. Would be great if one of our local breweries could open up there.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Can anyone estimate how much business the downtown Target did between 6 and 10 PM pre-pandemic compared to the Lake Street Target? I’m guessing the answer to reduced store hours lies somewhere at the confluence of lower traffic and higher crime. Yeah, pretty weird they still have those hours. Lake ...

Yeah, but this one is weird if they’re getting EAS money. I did fly to Colorado Springs last fall, but that serves a bigger population. Crazy short flight, wow!

Think of how angry people will be when they can’t drop off their passengers directly in front of the Uptown Theater before they drive around for 3 hours until it’s time to pick them up because there’s no parking anywhere.

So, what is going to be built there? There’s a sign up for Bauer Design Build but I don’t see anything on their website on a quick glance.
