Thanks for the updates!
Is there a date by which we'll have an update on the Wendy's site? Gotta admit, I like having a Wendy's nearby, but I'd be okay with losing it in the name of responsible urban redevelopment.

It's the traffic-calming street of the future -- streets with stairs!Ha! Whoever drew that sketch of the sidewalk and street was on drugs. #art

Re: Mozaic (all phases)
I guess the question is whether there is a need/use for smaller, new retail spaces for mid-level small businesses that can't afford/don't need a larger space but can't find a smaller one in the area or don't want an older space for whatever reason. I don't know. But it seems like most every new ret...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Sounds like a mess. Anybody have a guesstimate of the current chances for seeing SWLRT make it through all of this? The actions from the right are infuriating me, but that's not a new trend.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
I like "Lake Maka Ska" a lot more! It sounds kinda cool, too! "Lake Mendoza" is also fine with me. I guess I'm just against the word "Bde". And here comes the stupid question of the day......: why can't we name it after a prominent Minnesota figure, like "Lake [Hum...

Re: Wooddale Station Area / PLACE Proposal - St. Louis Park
I agree about the objection for lack of street-facing retail. This corridor has the potential to be a local retail draw.
*Edit: though after looking at the plans, it seems like there is a lot of street-facing retail. So I'm not sure what exactly the objection was about.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
My one and only issue with the name change is that it's our most notorious and popular lake for tourists and nobody is going to know how to pronounce it or spell it if they're trying to look it up.

What'll Alatus do instead if the judge doesn't rule in their favor? They must be planning to hit the ground running when the judge makes a ruling... probably either way...

It seems to be missing a LOT of projects....and not just projects <$25M! It's cool, nonetheless.

It lists YOLO as one of the potential names for the project... um...

Google.Originally, code 42 was going to occupy the space. They must've landed a big office tenant.

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics
Huh, you're right. For some reason I was thinking that downtown-sized blocks were 200'x200'. I stand by my point about more than one residential tower per block making sense yet in this neighborhood, or possibly anywhere outside of downtown. I agree with that logic, especially considering the amoun...

Re: Minnetonka Area – General Topics
The outrage over a 3-story structure and the excuse that it's "out of scale" with the area is ludicrous and an obvious cover-up for what the real issue is: diversity/lower-income housing. I swear that even if the developer lops off one floor it won't make one iota of difference to the neig...

Re: West Lake Station / Calhoun Village area - multimodal study, development, etc.
I worry though that the closer the tower(s) get to the north edge of the lot the more residents are going to gripe about height/shadows.

Re: West Lake Station / Calhoun Village area - multimodal study, development, etc.
I lived here before and I remember the landlord saying that it's called "Calhoun Towers" (plural) because originally it was supposed to have a twin tower, but the cost to build the original tower was exorbitant due to sinking foundation, so they never built the twin, and I had sort of thou...
