Re: Minneapolis Armory
So. Parking access to the Armory upper level will be removed with this project. As a venue, they will need a truck dock, and there's no way the two existing doors with the steep ramps are useful for anything other than cars. The existing dock (3 garage doors at 5th/5th) looks to be original, yet co...

Re: LRT Disappointments
If I can log on to Uber on my phone and see every independently owned black town car in the city, I dont see how difficult it would be so see every train on a fixed track.

Re: Downtown Retail News
A Traders Joes just north of the new stadium makes the most sense to me. Could serve the new development, Mill District and be close enough to 7-corners u of M crowd.

Re: Minneapolis Armory
This is exactly what I have been hoping for at the Armory for years!!! the mid-size concert venue is really really lacking in MN compared to other cities of similar size. On top of concerts if designed right it could be used for: Rollergirls, HS basketball/volleyball games, support events for new st...

Re: LRT Disappointments
Would it be that hard to have all of the trains on a map dot system like you are driving? A bunch of colored dots moving on the line back and forth. I would love to see where all of the trains are as our system grows. ( i swear that im not writing this just because Im obessed with the transit game f...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
The Royalston plan (for new streets and blocks) is pretty much exactly what I pictured in my brain, and it is perfect. RIP stupid frontage road. If there's one Minneapolis station to get really excited about, it's this one. The City/County should be working hard on finding new homes for the current...

Re: Hennepin Avenue
Wouldnt it be nice, if the congestion on Hennepin could be looked at in conjunction with the SW light rail? Imagine if freight were moved from the Kenilworth corridor and replaced with a parkway/bike trail/light rail combination from W Lake st running down to Dunwoody Blvd. How many cars going from ...

Re: Nicollet Mall
schmitzm03 - I'm not familiar with Denver's 16th St mall but are there busses that travel along the mall or is it a strictly pedestrian mall like the name implies? I ask because I'm NOT a fan of the busses on Nicollet but I can't focus on that since it's clear the city loves busses on this street a...

Re: 3rd/4th Viaduct + Development
Living in one of those 4 condo buildings, I would love to see 4th remove the viaduct. The viaduct + massive parking lot really creates a wall that for walking, biking and driving that is only further dividing neighborhood. My one thought is does 3rd need to be the other outbound compliment to 4th St...

Re: Andrews Hotel site (4th & Hennepin)
Ideally for me, I would love to see the helix structure be removed and the parking ramp re-configured so the exit and entrance is on 4th only. This would eliminate the need for the lane on the north side of the light rail on 5th st completely.

Re: Block E
Not that this is the right location for it, but I've thought that a curling club somewhere in the North Loop would be a major hit. The hipsters would eat that up. Just think of it as the winter version of Brit's. I too think a curling club somewhere in the city would be awesome! I know I have heard...

My hope is that having a sports team in the building will help turn Block E into more of a sports hub possibly attracting KFAN, or Fox Sports North to relocate to the building as well.

Re: The Interchange
^yup, that's exactly the point. I live in the neighborhood and just got rid of a car. With a walkable grocery store, amazon.com, car2go, niceride, and the lightrail there's no longer a need if you work locally. Thats great for those who work locally or on a transit route. But I would bet that is th...

Re: The Interchange
Also, does anyone know exactly how the street configuration will be around The Interchange? # of Lanes on 6th Ave? Will 5th St be a one way? Will there be turn lanes/signals at the intersection? Will there be turn lanes in/out of Incinerator, Bus Garage, Super America? People really use 6th Ave to g...

I believe the windows are "historic" from what I was told by a owner of 730 lofts. Hence why it took so long to develop.

Re: The Pedestrianization of 29th Street
Quick question. You say "There will be a walkway for baby strollers on the north side of the trench that will be completely finished in about 2 year."
I have not seen this anywhere. Will this be in the trench or on the North side outside of the Trench?

Re: Minneapolis Armory
I think an event Space is the ticket here. Minneapolis/Saint Paul has long been missing a concert venue for the artists that can draw around 3000-5000 people. Most Cities have this type venue ranging from old theater spaces to smaller type arenas. The closest thing we have is Roy Wilkins, which has ...
