Re: Star Tribune Blocks

By this time tomorrow we should know whether Minneapolis will be trumpeting a return to significant, inspired, architectural design, to an eager audience or whether we will whisper a retreat from our global ambitions. Well, 0 for 1 so far with the Vikes. Next up, Ryan Cos. and the Star Tribune bloc...

Re: Vikings Stadium

I'm a fan. 8/10 score.

Remember many things will likely change. Take a look back at the unveiling designs of Target Field and look at what we have today. Close, but many differences and its all better.

I think this was only part 1 of the plan. Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Re: Pillsbury "A" Mill Redevelopment

^^^Thanks for the explanation. I do enjoy the pictures. Just wondered if there was a reason behind the delivery method.

Re: Pillsbury "A" Mill Redevelopment

Tom, Why is it you post links to your blog rather than posting pics here? I'll admit I am not a fan of the rotating pics in your blog.

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)

Thanks! I like seeing it on Google. :)

So they opted to not route near North Memorial and through most of North Mpls. Interesting.

I am surprised that the northern most stop isn't at Target's campus up there. It's VERY close. Could that change?

Re: Vikings Stadium

Vikings just posted on their website and Facebook that the design unveiling is a week from today. Is it telling that they chose to use the rendering with the big swoop rather than the many ripples? http://www.vikings.com/news/article-1/Vikings-MSFA-To-Unveil-New-Stadium-Schematic-Design-May-13/65bcc...

Re: Vikings Stadium

Have you seen the new Vikings uniforms? Could the shoulder striping be a hint at the new stadium design? This could be possibly a side view. It reminds me of one of the renderings. Pic of striping for reference: http://www.vikings.com/media-vault/photo-gallery/New-Vikings-Uniforms-Close-Up-Images/66...

Re: Mortenson Hotel - (19 8th Street North)

This is probably getting off topic... but I think we see near sellouts this weekend. Fri-Sun look gorgeous and the Rangers are a good team coming to town. On topic. I think it would be interesting to see how this hotel connects to the street. There are many hotels downtown that you may not notice if...

Just wondering if anyone works in the construction or development business? There are always inside rumors going around about speculation and everyone needing patience. Is this because some of you work on the inside? I may be looking for new employment soon. I think it would be interesting to combin...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

Yes, they use the upper two floors. 1st floor is the main room. 2nd floor is a price increase. 3rd floor is private rooms. As far as I can tell they use the entire space.

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

^^^ But if you have ever been into Deja Vu you know that the main area is in that building. Entering from the street you go down a long hall. A small non-used Vu logo merchandise area is on the right. Then you turn left and the main stage/large area is in that 3 story building. Then there are the 2n...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

I had no idea there was space between these two. This would be a nice addition. Hopefully it means some of the building is reprinted and no longer pink. EDIT: I just thought about this some more and looked at the street view. There is not obvious vacant space here. I will be very interested to see w...

Re: The Interchange (At Target Field)

That view will be DRASTICALLY different when Shapco is replaced by the 8 story office building and the Natural apartment building is next to Fulton Brewery.

Is this taken from the 720 building? I wonder if those residences are going to be upset with the taller developments moving west of 394?

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT)

They're actually building a new nasty weave on MN 36 at US 61 / English street because the locals wouldn't let them build a plan that didn't include it. What does this mean? According to MN Dot they are taking out the signal and putting in a diamond interchange. http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/pro...

the buidling in the picture isn't the right shape... This was my first thought too... Then I looked at the .pdf that is the very 1st post of this thread. Sure enough the picture is there. It's in the upper right corner of every page. This picture does not show the L shape very well, but it is what ...
