Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
With Calhoun Square almost entirely leased, seems like now would be a good time to build something here. With the parking ramp, I would think it would be a perfect spot for ground floor retail and office space above. Get some people in the area and the ramp used during the day. Walked by the Walkway...

Re: Road Geek Topics
The signs on 35W South leading up to the Crosstown are horrible. For 2 miles it says there are two lanes that go to 62 East. Yet at the last minute, you realize only one goes to 62 East and 1 is for Portland exit only. This causes a lot of people to have to suddenly merge, causing a mess on that ram...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
With the new talk about the Vikings stadium having a baseball alignment "squeezed" into it... has it ever been discussed to add a retractable roof to the Saints ballpark? Not sure if you are serious are just making fun of the comments on the Strib article. But if you are serious, a roof w...

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
I am saying that I quickly got use to the freeway noise. And it got to a point where I needed that constant noise to fall asleep.Make sure you have your hearing checked regularly. Just saying.

Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
They're up to 32 units sold as of yesterday. Wowzers. I do not have any experience in sales, but doesn't this seem to be selling extremely fast? I have a freind looking to buy a condo downtown, and she is having a real hard time finding anything at all. Has to be a good sign for future development.

Re: The Bridges - (950 University Avenue SE)
I lived in 7 Corners with a unit facing the 35W bridge. The noise never bothered me. When I went home that summer to the lake, I couldnt sleep for about a week because it was too quiet.

Re: House of Hanson Site (14th Avenue SE & 5th Street SE)
Awesome design. 14th and 5th corner ties in perfectly with the character of Dinkytown. Great setback after the 2nd level. Not sure how the neighborhood could complain....but they will.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
I think the parking is almost a given considering the location. I am sure the Comcast Center in Philly is not on the outskirts of the downtown core and right by the Eagles stadium. If this development were on Nicollet, there would be no parking ramp. But due to its location, it is almost a given to ...

Re: 394 Corridor
Wondering how expensive a LRT spur would be via BNSF ROW to the West End... then from there it could slowly get extended westward. I think this is a great idea, but curious as to where it would go. I can see following the Cedar Lake Trail to the West End area, but after that how would you get it go...

394 Corridor Office Market
Interesting article in the Strib today about the low vacancy rates in office buildings along 394 between 100 and 494. With what this article is suggesting, I wouldn't be surprised to see Duke start planning another tower at West End. Also nice to see so much talked about the importance of The West E...

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects
This may be old news, but wasn't there a proposal for that long parking lot next to RiverWest? What is the deal with that? I thought it was a taller building on the north corner, but could be wrong. Is that all one parcel? Or multiple? What can be built there? Just seems to be the only good land lef...

They really need to move Lake Calhoun so this picture includes the WF tower.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
If I am reading the article correct, isn't it implying that the TIF is strictly so they use the two blocks along the line as green space? So wouldnt that essentially leave just the other two blocks for all that development? From that thought, this could be pretty impressive vertically. And just thin...

True, but how long until it is the norm? With the way these things are going up in the area, soon it will fit right in.

Re: Suburban Malls and Associated Retail News
I know the Ridgedale one has a nice sit down restaurant that is really good. Anyone know a good place to park for the downtown Macy's? I have never been there, but it sounds like they have the best selection for men's clothing.

Re: Rumors!
It may just be me, but I am not sure I would want a super tall. Something a little bigger than the "big 3" would be great, but a super tall makes everything else less impressive, which I think makes our skyline less impressive. I think our skyline looks "tall" enough now, just wo...

Re: Rumors!
If this is a thread for downtown development rumors and speculation it should go back in that sub forum. Doesn't really make sense as an "anything goes" topic, IMO. Unless you're just trying to kill this type of discussion... Agreed. It seems as if someone doesn't believe Nasa's speculati...

Regarding not more mixed use above the retail. Keep in mind they still plan on building 1.1 million square feet of Class A office just east of this apartment building.

That sure is an interesting car in the middle of the intersection of the first pic. Haha. Thanks for all the pics of all of these projects, Nick. It is great to see how they are all coming along.
