Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project

Am I bad urbanist if I wish they put a curb cut in at the entrance of the Loring Greenway? I bike through the greenway on a regular basis, you have to swing pretty wide to be able to pop your tire up the curb. Nope. That was close to the top of my wishlist for the new mall. It's a pretty major bicy...

Re: Minneapolis City Council and Park Board Elections 2017

Is everyone prepared for Ginger Jentzen to win? I see her people campaigning at the U every single day. Prepared and excited. I hosted a fundraiser for her last night. Over half the people in my apartment building are voting for her. I'm firmly convinced she's the best choice in this race. She's ge...

Subdivision request filed with CPC to "facilitate development of a portion" that portion being the corner lot. Looks like we're going to see yet another iteration of this project.

Re: Nicollet Ave / Eat Street - Whittier, Stevens, Loring Park

Does anyone know why the exterior brickwork has been ripped off of the building housing Spyhouse at 26th and Nicollet? And why would it not be replaced? It's been gone for months now. It seems like that would lead to water damage, but I admittedly know very little about masonry construction practices.

Re: Prospect Park - General Topics

As a heavy bicycle user of the transitway, I would advocate against adding more crossings for reasons already articulated here. I've lost count of the number of close calls I've had with Surly patrons failing to yield the right of way at the Malcom crossing. Furthermore, the University owns the land...

Re: Mortenson / USBank site - 333 Hennepin Ave E (~28 stories / 280 units)

CPC CoW plans for this... thing. 49% precast concrete on the exterior. This project went from weird (in its initial form) to pretty hideous.

Is it possible that the footprint for this phase is actually rectangular, extending straight back from the street and not including the portion of the lot behind the auto repair shop and facing 5th? That would leave room for a third phase...

Re: DTE: Wells Fargo, Radisson Red, Edition Apts & Millwright Building

Went by today, and reiterating some of what's already been said here, Millwright is effectively done and looks fantastic up close. It feels old and sturdy while simultaneously being very open and airy and modern. Faux-historic done well.
