Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery

I figured Rick Christenson grew up speaking Norwegian. (Not that uncommon for a Minnesotan of his generation.) And his faith has a strong missionary bent, so other languages can easily come into play as well.

Re: Rumors!

Oh, and this editorial written by Rick Christenson on the same subject: http://www.postbulletin.com/col-rochester-s-airport-can-divert-dollars-from-the-twin/article_ad49df51-9860-56ff-9586-5cf0d6b58354.html I thought this editorial also was very similar in logic and strategy to the whole Consortium...

Re: Rumors!

Great find, Phil. Rick Christenson is definitely a real person (as opposed to Ryan and Texas RE, et al). It would be great to hear from him about all of this. It would also be great to hear from other posters who were supporters of RB, perhaps later. My two cents, 1. This is an elaborate hoax carrie...

Re: Rumors!

Great discussion as always on this site. Someone on SSC mentioned John Titor, who I didn't know of but found to be a very interesting analogy to all of this. The Helmet of Horror, a novel by Russian writer Victor Pelevin, also provides interesting food for thought. It sets the myth of Theseus and th...

Re: Rumors!

I work downtown and take the bus in almost everyday. Today of all days I was sitting next to this fellow who was looking at emails. I believe he works in the industry. One of the emails appeared to concern a proposal on the TCF site that would top 60 stories. Has anyone else seen anything about this...

All I'm trying to say is that haters gonna hate. Forgetabout'em. Give me the 10,000 word post or the link to the site where people give you the right attitudes, enthusiasm and friendliness. Sit back and enjoy indeed.

Re: Rumors!

Personally I like all the rumors from RetiredBanker and everything, and I think many others expressed the same. The idea that he stopped posting though because of some snark is just silly. People shouldn't be so sensitive. I mean you post if you want to, if you don't want to you don't post. The worl...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

I agree with David in part, though I also agree density requires improvement in Uptown. Either way, the die have been cast and people should just try to make improvements to 3A, Midtown and Nicollet, especially improving times on Nicollet.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

I know this is really confusing, so maybe take it in small parts and feel free to use a dictionary. We hear 'there was no promise.' Again and again, really. Then we heard, that at the time, it was said rail couldn't be rerouted through St Loius Park. It was 'impossible.'. So here's where it gets re...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

If a thing is impossible to do why would there need to be a promise not to do it?
Yes, Nick. I thought the same, especially with this one

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha)

Can anyone tell me if the use of pedestrian underpasses or bridges has been studied for any of the blue line stops? (The 38th and 46th Street Stations seem the most appropriate.)

Would that not help accessibility for pedestrians and development on the east side of Hiawatha?

Re: Midtown Corridor

Unless the route on Lake St. had its own right of way, I'll say keep it to the Greenway, but a couple more more routes should be added, namely Nicollet and Cedar: 1. Makes distances easier for pedestrian traffic between Lyndale and 35W and Hiawatha and Bloomington. 2. Covers all North-South bus rout...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

I took these shots today from the 24th floor at Government Center, which is the Hennepin Law Library. (A great resource to know about in any case.) Sorry for the dreary day and low quality pictures, but I thought these images may add to the debate on the site. Once construction begins this will be a...
