Re: Major League Soccer Stadium in Minneapolis
I can see Target Field from my work, and the MLS logo is on the jumbotron. Maybe we'll see a rendering today!

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium in Minneapolis
Anyone want to be optimistic and say along with our MLS expansion announcement Wednesday, will also come renderings and confirmed private funding for the new stadium? Because this is the only question regarding the new team, you would think there is something McGuire and Garber know regarding the si...

It's also not the bird safe glass, so all of the advocates are probably pissed. And yeah I agree, this seems like its going a lot faster than TCF stadium. I'm assuming there are double the workers though.

Looks like MN United is a lock, just gotta confirm the ownership group can get the funding needed for the stadium.

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium
Most soccer specific stadiums have overhangs above the seating, as for the field I'd imagine they would have it heated. The Vikings play outdoors in December and the field is dry, so I'd imagine they'd work something out.

Very exciting! I wonder which buildings would need to be torn down if this did become a reality.

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium
Here is the latest regarding McGuire's MLS stadium plan. It kind of looks like the MLs is holding off to award a city based on whether or not this plan goes through.

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
Looks like MOA will no longer be the largest mall in the US! The same owners are building a larger one in Miami. Does this mean phase 1C is the final phase? Or will the complete phase 2 still happen? http://bringmethenews.com/2015/03/06/ski-slope-ice-rink-rides-moa-owners-unveil-plan-for-worlds-bigg...

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium
I agree, and it seems the MLS prefers the soccer specific stadium idea, which is what Sacramento will have. To be honest, I'm starting to wonder if the MLS is shying away from Minneapolis, unless they get a soccer specific stadium deal done. I hope I'm wrong

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium
It will be interesting, the Wilf site seems easier because of the 5-year exclusive rights they have to host an MLS team and they have plans with how they will host a game. Though the downside is they don't own United FC as Bill McGuire does, so would they need to build a team from scratch?

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium
Las Vegas is officially out of the running. Looks like it's between us and Sacramento. Maybe both of us will get the expansion now that Bekcham's stadium plan isn't going through. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/12/mls-expansion-las-vegas-eliminated-leaving-sacramento-minneapolis-in-race-...

Re: Xcel Energy HQ - (401 Nicollet Mall)
To my knowledge I believe there are no more employees in the US Bancorp Tower, however there are still emplyoees working out of Marquette Plaza which they are leasing. I think all of those employees will be moved to the new building, along with some other departments in service centers around the TC...

Re: Xcel Energy HQ - (401 Nicollet Mall)
I work at Xcel Energy, more specifically for PSCo (their Colorado company) but I work out of Minneapolis. We have had conversations about each of the HQ's for the three companies (SPS, PSCo and NSP). PSCo has the coolest design for their HQ, the Larimer building in downtown Denver. I think it's a go...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
So I drive by this daily and it appears they're always working/digging/pouring concrete. Are they just building the parking ramp portion for now? Or have they finalized any building atop the parking ramp?
