Re: Southside - General Topics

Anyone know what's going on with the Burger King at Nicollet and 34th? It's been closed for a week now. There's a sign on the door that says it will re-open, but I'm started to think something more might be going on. I haven't seen anyone onsite doing repairs/remodeling (I live nearby). Maybe they ...

And I hope everyone here reading it is leaving encouraging comments as they read. (But I'm preaching to the choir) And writing the mayor's office and their city council member! Don't let them only hear from the naysayers! Let's show them how much support there is for this. They need to hear from us.

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

I think this is a pretty cool idea and gets the mall towards something it was always envisioned to have anyways. The article didn't seem to say, but would this be connected to the mall by some sort of skyway? Or not feasible?

Minneapolis is 15th densest, while St Paul is 21st.
Also, looks like it won't be much longer until Houston is the 3rd largest city overtaking Chicago. But, man, look at that difference in density!

Re: 2017-18 MN Legislative Session & Budget - Battle for the Senate Majority?

How does one become the President of the Senate? Can the MN Senate select a different person to fill that position before Tina Smith vacates the Lt. Governorship? Chosen by the body. However, a special session would need to be called before the official appointment of Tina to the seat (Jan. 3rd acc...

Thanks for that info! From the photo I couldn't see any fencing or barricades so I thought maybe it was already being used by bicyclers and pedestrians "unofficially"

It looks like in this photo that it is already possible for pedestrians to cross over the old 5th St. exit. Is that correct? I haven't been over there to check it out myself. Just curious if it is accessible at the moment or not.

And a mini-fridge. It's a coffee bar (or so says the caption). I can't think of any more high-end way to get my coffee than to microwave it in my bathroom.
