Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Rode the line from Downtown St Paul to Metrodome station late Sunday afternoon. Got off at Lexington to go to Popeye's for an early dinner (don't judge lol). Left Popeye's at 4:10. Next train didn't arrive till 4:33. We proceeded to hit every traffic light, including Griggs St (!) Hamline, and about...

Re: Soo Line Building Apartments - (501 Marquette Avenue)

I have a friend living in that building. The amenity area on the rooftop is already showing lots of wear (almost cut myself on a round metal table where the metal is ... peeling off or something). Some of the tchotchkes on the wall have either been vandalized or accidentally broken. Finally the roof...

Re: Black helicopters downtown

They appear to be MH-6 Little Bird helicopters. They flew between Grant Park and The Hilton Garden Inn! Also flew close enough to my building to be able to see the legs of the soldiers hanging out the side of the helicopter.

Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)

They're getting ready to shift the course of the skyway inside E-MC² itself to a temporary(?) hallway. While they are moving around the construction barriers I got some glimpses of progress (sorry no pics). It appears that the escalator near the Hennepin Ave side is gone, as are all traces of Border...

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment

They remodeled the elevator lobby on skyway level. Moved the entrance to Sew What! and the temporary construction walls came down yesterday to reveal this:

Re: Conrad Hotel in the Plymouth Building - 12 6th Street S

I hope that Lyon's pub stays put after this is completed. I don't go there very often, but it is good for the neighborhood being so open and friendly looking in the summer.

Am I missing something, or did that article not have the all important "when"? Just said unveiled and showed a rendering of the final product, so I assume that it wont be ready for this year.

Re: MSP Airport

I for one would love to see an A380 in person, especially in near proximity to a 747. Too bad we didn't have more warning. Had the experience of flying one CDG->JFK. I was coming from Geneva and intentionally picked a 3 leg return trip so I could fly the beast. Boarding is a nightmare. Even using t...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)

Green line this morning at around 9am was delayed downtown at Government Plaza station "... as we establish the proper spacing between trains". I don't ride that often, is this happening a lot? The train operator came on the PA system and announced that there were two westbound trains at t...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before and I missed it: it looks like they are building another platform at the Nicollet Mall station right next to Nic on 5th. Is this the case? Why would they do this?
