Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
So, shouldn't their repaving trigger a site plan review which should require landscaping around the perimeter of the lot? Hello, CM Frey, wasn't that one of your pet peeves? Posing the question here is obviously rhetorical, but you should really email him (the intern that runs his email) if you fee...

Re: Seattle
The more surprising thing is you actaully saw the Twins win. What did you think of the LRT? It's been about two years since I last rode it, but I've always thought their LRT, aside from the downtown tunnel is a notch or two worse than ours. The vehicles are poorly laid out. Some of the station...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
You're absolutely right. These trees are really nice. They will provide some really good shade in the years to come. I hope we can get the right amount of rain this year while the roots establish themselves. It would really suck to loose a $1000 tree the first year.

I took a picture of all the Car 2 Go's back in March on my way to work. This was a few weeks after the program started. Not a lot of use.

Re: Denver
That is a good read. Best part from the story that made me slightly sad for our own area. The result was a great pact organized by the metropolitan chamber of commerce. All the cities and towns in the nine-county region agreed not to poach jobs and businesses from one another, but rather to work tog...

Cool project! This kind of came from no where. The color pallete is really bland, but those town homes are the "missing middle." Overall it is a welcome addition to the Marcy-Homes neighborhood.

Re: Latest Census Estimates and Met Council Projections
What are peoples thoughts when they see a list like this? Is it really fair to simply stop the thoughts about Minneapolis as only the 46th largest city in America or is it better to think of Minneapolis and St. Paul as one entity? I almost always find myself thinking of us as one entity. The borders...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
At one of the meetings for the Commons when the design was just getting started, I asked if they would be removed and got met with a lot of displeased old people who said they worked hard to get those there. Apparently they thought I was attacking it for resembling the Stone Arch Bridge. Wait a sec...

Re: The Metrodome
I just returned from Toronto yesterday. While I was there I was able to go to a Blue Jays game in the Rogers Center. I never thought I would ever feel nostalgia for the Metrodome, but being in the Rogers Center made me realize that our giant ugly concrete dome was better than theirs. It took a while...

Hahahaha the joke is on point Grant. Try not to be so salty man.Maybe they got approval to demo the site, but the committee didn't feel like whatever was going to replace it would fit well in the area, so they had to scale it down.

Re: DTE: Wells Fargo, Radisson Red, Edition Apts & Millwright Building
They better be ready once retail is in place. Also useful for people who are visiting the Edition, and possibly for park overflow park. It just bothers me for both large Wells Fargo locations downtown, neither have immediate access to bike racks so far. You are right. Both their largest branch and ...

Please point to a single big company that left Minnesota because of our corporate tax structure. Medtronic specifically cited taxes as the reason for moving their corporate headquarters to Ireland. While that was more about not paying federal rates for repatriation of some $13-14 billion dollars, t...

Wow, I think your self righteous crusade of demeaning and belittling other posters on this site is beyond overzealous. But you're right, the rest of the post is fine. So, sorry Archiapolis: not the most vitriolic, just deeply condescending.
