Re: Northside - General Topics
That's the problem. The W. Broadway location has a McDonalds with a drivethru on the next block and is better serviced by surrounding streets. (Bryant has capacity and 21st acts like a service road to W. Broadway in some ways.) Versus the Southside location isn't as well serviced by adjacent streets...

Re: Northside - General Topics
In the Broadway one they talk about how the Franchise filed for bankruptcy and that's how the eyesore was created and they have a new franshisee. The Nicollet location has a number letters like the one below and lots of venting about not wanting fast food and drive thrus. Both locations are in areas...

The Burger King on W Broadway is going to reopen, their lawyers are asking for a variance for the drive-thru. This would be nice given how terrible the abandoned store looks.

It's going to catch up with the Gateway project lol. Maybe they can put up a sound barrier for the exhaust?

I don't think it is a conspiracy, but the result is they are further concentrating poverty in anj area which is already one of the lowest income areas in the whole city.

Re: Elliot Park
Am I the only one wondering what else happened behind the scenes to end up with this result? Seems like a complex issue, but Elliot Park seems to get dogged with more than their share of large institutions, supportive housing, etc. Yes, the facility is opening up, but I can't imagine hundreds of be...

This may be a little extreme, but if the Railroad is going to do whatever they want within their rights can't the city do the same thing? Build a median across Central Ave blocking the 28th Access from the south. Add in a stoplight at 28th with "Special timing," leaving access to the raily...

Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus
What is the Status of the Streetcar line on the Greenway? That might affect the B Line. Bringing things back to the C Line, the corridor may densify. There has been some activity on the major cross streets of Plymouth and Broadway.

Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus
It's also worth noting that neither the A nor the C are in particularly dense areas. (They have good numbers of transit users however.) I'm wondering how fast the rider will go up when they start a line in a truly dense area.

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 41 stories / 550'
From many angles this is going to visually expand the skyline, especially with the Gateway Project. When I see the skyline I try to visualize these new towers. This is especially true from North and since the main tower cluster would be extended by Gateway then you have the lower buildings of North ...

Re: The Once and Future Dayton's
As more residents move Downtown who are older. They'll be looking for places they can go to spend money. Whether it is Cardigans for a coffee and donuts or clothes and eateries. Eventually those buying the apartments now ill be come more immobile and forced to navigate through the skyway. Older well...

Re: The Once and Future Dayton's
I hope this becomes a destination which brings those living Downtown there during non-office hours. Perhaps if we build activity here and we could get it to spread to City Center and beyond for a vibrant downtown. Wishful or hopeful?

I wish all towers would move as efficiently and quickly as this. When I saw this on Saturday crossing the river I got so excited I distracted my wife and we missed our exit.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I live in the Northside and my first thought about LRT going down Broadway is that it's a very car-centric culture and that there would be a lot of pushback. But, then there are also a good number of transit users. I'm also willing to wager much of the traffic on W Broadway is passing through. If yo...

Regarding the recent conversations isn't the Royalston Station a planned stop? Secondly, the placement of the stations is messing up traffic on Penn and probably going to create accidents. I was behind a C Line which was trying to board someone with a wheel chair at Penn and Golden Valley road and w...
