Re: Northside - News & General Topics

Major bummer. Do you suppose it was out of spite from Northern Metal? One last F-U to the city? Sounds like it's another trend of Investor's buying real estate. We'll probably see more of this around the cities I am sure to our chagrin. I guess if we don't like it stop buying online. Now home owned...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

Has anyone heard any rumors of if and when Target and the Skyways will return to the normal hours?
Give that someone was shot and killed outside the store recently during operating hours I doubt they will extend the hours anytime soon. I hope maybe in November?

Re: North Loop Neighborhood

Look at the massive amounts of space taken up for these exits. This area is becoming pretty valuable. Maybe some of the space could have a relocated Farmers Market?

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I'm sure its not just me who's noticed more ebikes on the trails recently (as well as a few e scooters still rolling around) so I wonder if it might be worthwhile soon to start letting people dock/charge their personal bikes at the nice ride stations or invest in some for public use. I can see it b...

Re: Minneapolis City Politics General Discussion

So Frey is 90% likely to run in 2024 for MN CD-05? He's not well liked but he will have a lots of conservative and powerful backers.

Omar will need to actually run a campaign to win against Jake. Will be spicy either way.
I agree, it will be interesting

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Governor (either Dayton or Walz, I can't remember) actually fly down to Fort Worth to negotiate with BNSF executives directly? This project was delayed for years while the state tried a lot of different avenues of leverage. I wholeheartedly support the new route thro...

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)

I have to say I wonder what ridership will be on this line. The parking should reflect ridership. Which we don't know what that is yet. Parking shouldn't be removed for empty buses. Bus ridership isn't what it once was obviously. Like I understand where you are coming from, but we are already seein...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT

I bike commute past the Bryn Mawr station every day. I have to say I don't get the point of the station. I say this as someone who bikes to it from Northside every day basically. It just isn't near the majority of the Bryn Mawr homes and people would have to walk through a crowded on/off ramps for ...

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT

The best shortcut in Mpls is the trail along 394 from Kenwood to Penn. Folks living near there could use it to get to the station with more ease than those living in Bryn Mawr. (This is the blue.) You can see how it's a bit longer than the red line from Bryn Mawr. Capture.PNG "I find it puzzlin...

Can someone explain what the story is behind the Summit Ave proposal(s)? I get the sense there is already drama. These are some more important bike facilities in the cities.

Some of my friends went to the ground breaking. It's a wonderful addition to the area. Although different Tooties nearby has been a steadfast destination for years. It's nice to have a tiny cluster of places. Maybe we'll get a third place.

https://twitter.com/wyseapple/status/1529085404208455681 Looks like Jenkins is a "no", she is so out of touch with her actual constituents... She won with 86% of the vote last year. It is more likely that you don't want to simply disagree with her and respect your difference of opinion wi...

Re: Blue Line Extension - Bottineau LRT

Maybe they should try talking to the Strong Mayor™ about implementing an anti-gentrification plan. Minneapolis theoretically should be making a Rent-stabilization Ordinance, right? Because transit can't be and do everything for everyone. Ellison actually ran on anti-gentrification and lives in Harr...
