Re: Black Lives Matter, The Police, etc.
That's what it looks like on most strib articles where there's any chance of an opposing viewpoint. Why do they bother with comments at all?

Re: Minneapolis Fiber Internet and Cable Services
if you want to get a true speed test, you need to plug in to the Ethernet jack directly with a laptop or computer. I get 50 up/down when I do that. Varies wildly on wireless but usually much less. Also to note, speedtest connects directly to USI's server in the default config (they host a speedtest ...

Re: Sports: Pro & Con
You guys are waaaay over thinking this, as usual. ESPN had 30+ years of subscriber growth because for 30 years it was the only 24/7 national sports channel. Now, other networks have finally caught on and want a piece of the cash cow, so that's why in the past year or two we've seen the successful l...

Re: Sports: Pro & Con
ESPN's drop in subs is probably mostly from people who don't watch sports to begin with. It's included with most cable packages and many cord-cutters are able to do it because they don't care about sports. Sports media like ESPN is going to have to evolve away from the subsidy model they've enjoyed ...

I can see that lot from my office window - it's usually half to 75% empty during the day. Seems like mostly employees park in the back of it.

I know this is an unpopular question on this site, but seriously -- how many bikes are going to be using this stretch? EDIT: Also, amazing that the preferred solution turns out to be exactly what Matt said it was going to be. Huh. What are the odds? As a resident of the area, I will use these lanes...

Wells has 3 full floors in the tower and parts of two other floors and also has space in each of the other buildings (not sure how much). In the tower, Epicor (software firm) has multiple floors, Prudential has at least a floor and Plus Relocation is on a couple of floors. There's also multiple othe...

Looks like phase 1 for 2016 is up on their map - fill in of streets they skipped this year in Tangletown, Field, Regina and Northrop. http://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/fiberusi

I tried to use google to figure out how long that land had been vacant, appears it's been at least since 2002 when the first proposals to redevelop show up on the city's website. I vaguely recall a BP there but that was in the late 90s likely.

Travis, appreciate your transparency through this process on this board. You've proved time and again how much I'd rather work with a company like yours than one of the mega-providers.

our fiber went live over the weekend. We were not slated to get it for another month, so they seem ahead of schedule.

it's normal. I've not found him to be responsive to anything.I wrote to Quincy too, who has not responded. I guess maybe that's normal, but having lived in Goodman's ward until just now, I was kind of used to a response to me emails (even if it sometime (always) came with a dismissive tone).

Nice to see this, was just walking by there today and noticing they've almost finished gutting the interior of the old Carbone's. Will be nice to see that building upgraded.

Re: Grocery Stores
I'm not sure Total Wine could open at Hi-Lake without some kind of exception (or buyout, though not even sure that would pass muster)- there is a 2000 ft buffer zone for new off sale establishments and they'd fall into two different store's (Minnehaha Lake and Hi Lake) buffer zones at the old Rainbo...

Re: Prospect Park Station - 2929 University Ave SE
I occasionally worked for that PJ's store over a decade ago. FWIW it always had low carryout traffic relative to deliveries, no dine in, and the rent probably went up too much (it was a bigger than average store with a lot of storage space).

Saw crews working on 5th Ave S near 46th street yesterday. That area not scheduled to go live until October, does that mean they're ahead of schedule? (my street is scheduled in November but would love to get it sooner!) The crews were in my neighborhood along Blaisdell about two months prior to se...
