Re: MSP Airport

The problem is that the DNL contours are no longer legitimate due to changing operations. I bought a home outside 65 DNL, and I heavily researched runway operations. Then a year later the departure procedures were fundamentally altered in a way that distributes greater noise outside areas covered b...

Re: Metro Transit Service Improvement Plan 2014

The more I think about this, the more I'm frustrated about a lack of service improvement on the 14. The 11 gets 15 minute service sandwiched between the 5 and the 18, but us 14 riders are stuck with 30 minute headways south of 38th Street? The 11 is only 3/8 of a mile to the high frequency 5 and 18...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Yep, that's still a big issue. I bet it is with your neighbors too. And I asked what the problem was.... the speed limit reduction. But people still drive 35-40, and there's rarely ever congestion even with 2 lanes instead of 3. Perceived problem, not real problem. Totally. People still drive the o...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Had a debate with my urban neighbors tonight regarding biking, Park/Portland, etc. at NNO. Still have a ways to go with public opinion. 8-o
Are people still mad about the Park/Portland lane reductions? They're still raceways for many to/from downtown even reduced to 2 lanes.

Re: Permit Parking

Ah. Good to know! Car share is definitely a better use for high demand parking than commuters or residents vehicles. Yeah, I don't know how well known that rule is, but their faq explains everything very nicely. I didn't know until I was frustrated one day by the lack of non-permitted parking aroun...

Re: Permit Parking

I'm pretty sure Car2Go is not allowed in permit parking areas. I know I don't park them in the critical parking areas around 38th and 46th light rail stains.
Bottom of page 4 here suggests otherwise. https://www.car2go.com/common/data/loca ... ng_FAQ.pdf

Re: Permit Parking

The friendlies at the meeting said that the root cause is territorialism and that car2gos are seen as an affront to their way of life. Sea Salt employees driving Car2Gos to their street and destroying their freedom to not see Car2Gos. My point was to annoy the ones who are already pissed off. And t...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium

It'd probably be pretty impossible to get a hotel room for crashed ice if the Super Bowl is also in town. I assume people come from far enough for that to need a hotel, right? given that many of the local hotels are already under contract with Meet Minneapolis for the superbowl, I'd say that's a fa...

Re: Cedar Point Commons (Target) - Richfield

The parking lot imbalance and design of the buildings facing 66th are my main issue with that shopping center. It also took a long time for the smaller tenants to get in. It's mostly full now, but took 4-5 years. I also wonder how that Home Depot is doing relative to other locations - it always seem...

Re: Cedar Point Commons (Target) - Richfield

I would argue those 12 homes were sunk the minute that shopping center opened. Such a poorly conceived area. I feel like a bit of a hypocrite though, because I shop there often.

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT)

I'm guessing (and backing it up with lots of personal experience) that this conflict between cars entering WB 94 and cars trying to exit at Hennepin/Lyndale is a HUGE bottleneck that could be remediated by this change. I have to believe that cars entering WB 94 from the future left-hand entrance wo...
