Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

Not exactly downtown, but repair work on the Band Box Diner seems to have started. Saw someone in there last night as I went past.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

Addition? Must be the part off to the side away from the kitchen? The place is tiny as it is, can't imagine it any smaller!

Re: Minneapolis 2021 Elections - Mayor, City Council, BET, Park Board

I'm not voting for the vague handwavy public safety amendment. Gives too much power to an already too powerful city council, and while it is abundantly clear that police reform is necessary, so is having a police department. I don't trust the council that stood on a stage with "DEFUND POLICE&qu...

Re: The Larking - 800 Park - 17 stories - 172'

CVS is still vacant yes. Personally I'm 9ish blocks from Trader Joes, 6ish from Target, 14(?) from Aldi (which I actually didn't know existed). Basically means I need to drive for any serious amount of grocery shopping (or look like a pack animal). Target is fine but not the biggest selection of pro...

Housing in the neighborhood is a far cry from where it was in the aughts, but services are still lacking. Not a lot of retail (grocery, etc) options in Elliot Park

The idea we can abolish or reduce the size of the police department is insane. So is the idea that policing doesn't need reform. There are too many bad people, and too many bad cops. Something like a licensure board requirement for police, increased education requirements and an increased salary see...
