The U of M is requesting $100 million dollars in HEAPR (Higher Education Asset Preservation and Renovation) money in the upcoming bonding (Capital Investment) bill. Who knows what the final amount they get will be, however, one project on their HEAPR list is $10 million for a complete rehabilitation...

Re: Former Macy's Site - Downtown St. Paul

Really hope this all works out and turns out well.

Huge news for St. Paul though. Mayor Coleman must be relieved. Maybe now the city can focus on some other major projects more thoroughly. Jail/riverfront, Palace Theatre, etc.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

MPR just reported that final beam raising was delayed due to lighting in the area posing a danger. May still go up later today.

Still begs the question--how can that be a "topping-out" ceremony with 3 more large steel beams to go up..but, whatever.lol

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Sorry, not sure how the word "really" got in there, which made it sound way snarkier than it was meant to (which is to say it was not meant to be snarky). I'd only recently learned about the practice, so I thought I'd share for others that hadn't heard of it yet. :) No worries. And maybe ...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

If you're really confused about why they're hoisting a tree to the top of the stadium, it's because it's a builders tradition: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topping_out
Not confused about that. Confused about how many beams are left to put on the roof yet today..

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Steel topping off event today.
I don't understand what this means.. Can someone explain? It looks to me like there is a lot of steel yet to go up on the south-side of the roof let alone the rest of it.

Re: Rumors!

I have a friend that works at corporate Buffalo Wild Wings and he was saying they are really interested in opening up near U.S. Bank Stadium and the new Wells Fargo Buildings. Apparently they are really happy with the TCF location at the U and think it would be a good fit there too. All the events a...

This is very exciting! Cheapo down the street. I've heard the old Chicken Shack is getting a redo too. Can't remember where I saw that at the moment.
