Re: The Virginia Triangle (Hennepin & Lyndale Bottleneck)
Is this really necessary at this point? I would rather have them put the money towards other improvements - like creating a land bridge, etc.

Re: Northeast - General Topics
Is it me or does it seem like N.E. and Central are really starting to be up and coming areas. Great to see so many unique, smaller local businesses opening up that cater to the neighborhood.

Great idea to turn the facade into a archway with stage for use in the park.

I think a grocery store would be a good fit for the area.

Love that the other building is being renovated. I always loved old nord'east. For while there - was quite a hotbed of activity with new stores, etc. moving in. Hopefully will pick up again.

Never really cared for DWR. Pharmacie looks way cool though and glad they are filling up that storefront. Uptown sure has come a long way as a shopping hotspot. Hope it lasts.

Re: Plymouth Building Hotel Conversion - (12 6th Street Sout
Especially with a light rail stop so close. Funny how things come full circle. Back in the day there were several grand old hotels located along Hennepin closer to the old gateway area.

Sounds like good news to me! Would be great if a similar arrangement could happen for Gateway Park north of the library.

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
It seems like some people responding here aren't realizing that the places in Gaviidae are closing because they are being evicted for renovation...Instead they are wondering why these places have "failed". Well, eviction is why. Same was the case with the fast food places in City Center (...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
I think people's tastes for food are definitely changing as well. There will always be those craving a fast hamburger from McDonald's, etc. but would love to see more of the truck food businesses morph into mortar dining spots. Also - would be great if finally some of the out state national franchis...

Very cool! Truly believe Washington Avenue could become Minneapolis's "Michigan Avenue" in terms of unique, higher end shops mixed in with restaurants/bars with cool sporting & cultural attractions within walking as well. Finally some new retail!!
