Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development
I appreciate the moxy of the Chicago proposal pic. But to me, it looks like stacked end tables in a CB2 window display. I guess a little bit of that concept goes a long way. And the stadium ramp, with Red out, I'm with those who are in the 'another bid' camp. I thought the hotel component was way mo...

That lime Harlequin pattern goes onto the street and up the camera exchange building. What kind of paint is that? Something durable, yet will be removed soon.

Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)
I don't think it necessarily means it's going to be retro. Sounds like they're just going with the same architecture firm. http://www.humphreys.com/product/high-rise/ I really dig the last one one Page 1 (On The Boards, 28-story in CA). Although, it's pretty much the antithesis of Marcy Holmes. I'm ...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
I don't understand how this city deals with trees. Especially in this case where we are finally seeing some maturation of trees on Nicollet Mall in its current state. Are they just gonna plow everything under and start from scratch? Meaning, saplings? Or, will we see what happened in Gold Medal Park...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
And since that's years away, my hope is that some Figlio-esque establishment moves into the ground level of Nic on 5th. Other than that site, I'm not sure there is much opportunity for many restaurants on the upper end of the Mall.

The frosted skyway full of garbage really makes this building "pop". As do the jaunty new windows.

That's what I've been thinking. 99-to-1 I would've placed money on 4Marq going up before this.Really making a lot of progress quickly. Good thing.

Wasn't 4Marq waiting until the last chunk of Nic and 5th (the parking portion adjacent to their property) was done with construction?

I guess the Strib arch in the park is a good idea, but I think you should only be able to walk through it 5 times per month for free.

Yeah, I'm lost. Is there a defined timeframe between Phase 1 and 2, or will whatever happens with 1 (horrible 40' views or not) click the domino onto 2?

Re: Latitude 45 - (301 Washington Avenue South)
Commercial space exists at the Carlyle and it's all empty. I'm not sure anything along 2nd would fare any better. The Latitude 45 spaces should work well. What a difference a block makes.

When I bought in DT 10 years ago, I was able to walk to my DT job. So, that situation was nice while it lasted until the reality of jobs these days kicked in. Since then, I've had another perm job and years of contracting...vastly in the suburbs. I suppose I should visit a thread here which talks ab...

Re: Opus Ritz Block Development
Funny that this is coming up, because I was recently thinking about a 45 degree orientation to the building(s) on this site. Or at least some facade of it. Could be interesting, in visually connecting the idea of the future street car line taking a 45 degree slice through the Nicollet Hotel block.
