Re: 1368 LaSalle Ave development
I happened to drive by the site today and it's still very much a parking lot as cars were in the lot. Hopefully we gain some insight to the status of this proposal soon.

Re: 1368 LaSalle Ave development
If this project was about to break ground, one would think at least one of our local news sources (Star Tribune, Finance & Commerce, TC Business Journal,etc...) would be all over it. Whatever the case, I'm hopeful construction will start soon.

Re: 1368 LaSalle Ave development
Great news!! I can't remember the last time I was so excited to hear / read about a project breaking ground. It will be nice to see a project excede what has become the Minneapolis norm of sub par to mediocre architecture.

Re: 222
Here was the original proposal, before shortening , no housing, and the current scheme. The two tower rendering was a weak copy of the Seattle whole foods project to generate interest/ marketing. This was what was actually designed. http://www.karlermanis.com/222washington.html Well, I'm glad the t...

Re: 222
I'm not convinced this block is a good fit for anything super tall. I never stated there should be a super tall building there. I was thinking a 10 to 15-story building, which isn't super tall. the block would have been ideal for a slender spire of 20 stories with small footprint/pedestal surrounde...

Re: 222
I'm a bit confused at the enthusiasm for this project. I guess i must be wrong with my disappointment; since it appears I'm the only one that just hates this project. Hopefully it looks better at the end of the day. I'm a bit disappointed with this project too. I like that downtown will be getting ...

Re: Nicollet Residences
By that logic, why stop at 35? Why not just built 1,000 stories? Well, if it was about 45 stories, then I'd really be happy! The top 6 stories of the original 33 story project is where a spectacular view truly became part of the amenity of living there. As I have said over and over again, this is a...

Re: Nicollet Residences
This construction may be too late to help persuade Neiman Marcus into a new lease(theirs is up at the beginning of next year)...I just don't see them sticking around. Anyway, enough negativity! haha One would think Neiman Marcus officials are paying attention to the growing downtown population and ...

Re: Xcel Energy HQ
Great news. I like the fact that Xcel is sticking to downtown and the building will be replacing the parking ramp. I wonder, however, why they are waiting until 2014 for construction to start. Maybe the wait will lead to more demand for office space and they will add another 10 - 15 stories.

Re: ATLAS at the Grey hound terminal.
Good thing this online discussion board, right? Seriously though, I should have read my comment before posting it.Unfortunately challenging a developer's pride on an online discussion board rarely results in new buildings.

Re: ATLAS at the Grey hound terminal.
All Bob Lux has proven thus far is that he likes to talk big and see his name in the press. If he really wants to make a name for himself, he would purchase some or all of the Star Tribune land and build a mixed-use tower that will help transform downtown's east end.

Re: Nicollet Residences
My guess is that the next five years of Nic Res will be a lot like the last five years, which is to say: parking lot. Same goes for 1368 LaSalle. That's another parking lot-for-life if I ever saw one. It's so easy for many Minnesotans to be negative. Is it possible that living through the co...

I found the information in a Finance and Commerce article from April 24, 2012. Other than that, the only link to this project can be found here:

Re: Minneapolis Armory
This plan would work better if there was a hotel nearby. I'm thinking of the parking lot just south of the Armory, between 6th St. and 7th St. South. The two could be connected via skyway.
