Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester

This is the best image I could find. Looks like 22 and 26 story towers. Still impressive and glad to hear it's continuing to move closer to groundbreaking. https://s8.postimg.org/6vvo607qt/Screen_Shot_2017-04-05_at_1.16.08_PM.png http://krocam.com/bloom-finalizes-plan-for-downtown-rochester-project/

Re: Rochester

I'll be interested to see how much private investment there is this year--probably even more than 2016 with the Hilton (Broadway at Center) building going up. Now that the DMC projects can start moving forward into the construction phase, I'm looking forward to more renderings of the Heart of the Ci...

Re: Rochester

Thanks for all the insight go4guy! You make some excellent points. High quality materials is definitely a good point to emphasize, as it easily could look rather haphazardly thrown together if the parking floors don't blend well into the rest of the building. I'm not sure whether I want the Heart of...

Re: The Broadway at Center - Rochester

From what I've heard, Titan's current Broadway at Center project grew out of their failed plans for Times Square. They took some of the same ideas, but scaled them down for the current site.

Re: The Broadway at Center - Rochester

True. I think the first announcement in the paper was summer of 2013, but it traces back all the way to the Time Square project from the late 1990s.

Re: Rochester

The height more than setbacks, but they aren't even consistent on those. The Broadway at Center project (which I believe has been approved and is only waiting on financing) lacks setbacks as well.

http://www.postbulletin.com/news/local/development-at-days-inn-hits-another-obstacle/article_2bd042bb-2b7a-595d-8ae1-95500d7bea51.html Looks like the reason they recommended denial 4-3 of the Heart of the City North was due to height and a lack of building setbacks. Of all the reasons to deny a 17-s...

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester

Agreed. That section by the riverfront could really use some revitalization. I'm pleased to see that they've included a variety of hotel, apartments, condos, assisted living, and even a rehab center. Now someone just needs to demolish and replace that Holiday Inn building adjacent to this project.

Re: Mayo Expansion Proposal - Rochester

Looking forward to it. Should be a pretty significant addition to the skyline once it's built, as it will be almost as tall as the Gonda building. The hospital facilities committee almost approved it this summer, but they ended up putting $185m into the expansions at Saint Marys, so it's been slight...

Re: Mayo Expansion Proposal - Rochester

I believe all floors are in use now, but there may be a little space on a couple floors for expansion. Some floors have space dedicated to non-clinical use, so once Discovery square has its first building completed, some space will be freed up as they shift over there. The expansion could probably h...

Re: Rochester

You mean in the rendering of the proposed tower? That's the Phase II vertical expansion of the Jacobson Building to bring it up to ~19 stories. That should be one of Mayo's first major projects under DMC. It would have been started as early as next year, but has been delayed slightly with ~$185m goi...
