Re: Central Corridor LRT
by MSPtoMKE I was wondering, will they be able to install all the catenary without blocking traffic along Washington? It is my understanding that the catenary will go in next year. So they should open bus traffic as soon as they can. by FISHMANPET And woe to the poor incoming freshmen who will have...

There is no room to lay down a 3rd track next to Green Line.by ECtransplant
If they laid an extra line of track with the CC they could have had express trains.

Re: Vikings Stadium
by min-chi-cbus Does anyone know how late the Central Corridor will run on weeknights/weekends? It'd be GREAT public transit for anyone wanting to go downtown to drink, especially from the U, but only if it runs late enough. Green Line: Weekday: 5:00 am to 1:00 am Saturday: 5:00 am to 1:00 am Sunda...

Re: New Vikings LRT Station
Giving neighbors a say on the stadium Besides the changes to the Metrodome site, the neighborhood will soon be home to one of the region’s largest transit hubs when the Central Corridor line joins the Hiawatha Line at the Downtown East/Metrodome Station. Metro Transit is starting to tear out the railings at Nicollet Mal Station and Warehouse Station. The platform will be replaced at next weekend shutdown
The pavers will be replaced with concrete. Apparently that the pavers are not holding up very well and are expensive to replace

Re: Central Corridor LRT
Went to a forum the other day and the impression is that Metro Transit wants to have the Green Line passenger service up and running before the 2014 All-Star Game. The thinking is that the All-Star game will be held at Target Field.

Re: New Vikings LRT Station
by MSPtoMKE A center platform here would be nice, but I do think it would be pretty difficult to change it now. You would have to tear out at least one of the current tracks to move them farther apart. You are right there is no room for a center platform. But they do need room for queuing passanger.

Re: Southwest LRT
I could be off my rocker but could this DEEDS money be a backroom deal between Governor Dayton and the Republican leadership. This way Dayton gets to fund Southwest LRT and maybe the Saints stadium and the Republicans can say they did not vote yes for it. Gov. Dayton Says He'll Pick Projects for $47...
