"Trunk or treating". This is what people do in the suburbs now. Drive to a parking lot to trick or treat out of the backs of cars.

Bloomington

Is there any hope for this place or will it remain a giant sprawling mess for all eternity?

Re: General Suburb News

Couldn't the neighbors buy the land and place it into a trust for preservation? I don't know why people don't do this when they live next to prairies. I mean, obviously that land is gonna get developed if you don't.

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

What's wrong with this route? Streetcars will pick up the slack east of the lakes. LRT is only for getting to baseball/the mall/the airport.

Re: 2700 University Ave

Yeah I live a block from there myself. I love having Dunns and also Snap so close (I use both), and a grocery store would be just great. That being said, I'm hoping for the best but not expecting much. It just seems like St Paul lacks the creative vision and initiative that Mpls has when it comes t...

Meh. You're still trapped in by 394, 100, and sprawl. Not impressed. SLP is way overrated.

Southtown is awful for all of the above.
That place grinds my gears. In fact the whole city of Bloomington should be razed and start over.

Wouldn't lake street be far, far better as a turning lane and 2 lanes, instead of its current 4-lanes?

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

Going from Mitchell to Target Field will be 33 minutes. I don't think that is too long as to affect the usefulness of the route. That's pretty comparable to the time it takes via a bus in traffic. Plus a majority of the riderswon't be going from one terminus to the other anyways so it shouldnt be a...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

What if they ran an adjacent train with only say 3 stops - Eden Prairie, Hopkins, and Downtown? So you could switch between the route with all the stops or the faster one with just the 3 stops. Is this pie-in-the-sky? It just seems like this proposed route would be so long (distance and with number ...

Re: Hwy 100

Or my wild idea: Entirely eliminate Hwy 7. east of Hwy. 100. Reconfigure the interchange to acknowledge that most people are going north on 100 to 394 with a flyover + aux lane. Without Hwy. 7 going through that part of SLP, all of the north-south streets can be reconnected in a standard grid patte...
