Re: Star Tribune Blocks

Sorry for bringing this up again, but do we know if Wells Fargo would be bringing new workers downtown? Or is the majority of the proposed space to be filled by consolidating existing rental space already in the CBD?

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

Wells Fargo just announced today a $5.1 Billion profit in Q4... so hopefully that leads them to do the deal- and not cut corners on the project either

Re: Vikings Stadium

Apologize for the slight detour here, but I wonder if anyone knows about the naming rights section of the new vikings stadium deal? I remember reading that of the NFL teams, all but 1 actually kept 100% of the income from selling naming rights. Even though the teams generally rely on the taxpayers t...

Re: Soo Line Building Apartments - (501 Marquette Avenue)

Does anyone know what the possible rental rates for this building will be? I could not find any specific information on that. Apparently they will have units ranging from around 500 SF studios to 1500 SF units. I am just wondering if a rehab historical building will command higher rents then all of...

Re: Vikings Stadium

Call me a pessimist, but I do not see the new people's stadium "breaking the mold". First off, due to size, usage and climate, the stadium will be somewhat limited in what it can offer. I just don't see a giant sliding wall and retractable roof going in to the final design. Also, while 1B ...

Re: Valspar Expansion

I know several people above mentioned that the mural on the building needs to be removed- my question is does that mean the entire mural will be taken down? Or just a section? That mural is one of my favorite things in that neighborhood- it is so unique and would be a huge shame if they were forced ...

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects

twa, I don't think WF will be vacating 1M SF downtown to move to the new proposal. Likely it would be from suburban campuses they lease. I could imagine some movement from the Northstar block or maybe the building on 3rd and Marquette, but I don't think this supposed back office dev would compete w...

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects

I think that the United States Capitol will be moved to Minneapolis in the next couple years. This is a good prediction and it makes a lot of sense to me. The time is right for us to move our federal seat of government and build a new Capitol building here, because I thought it and typed it in this...

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects

bench, meaning the trades. All the stick building is keeping them busy for now...and the big *silent* backlog. Not EVERYTHING in 8 months. But the start. You should pursue a career in radio. Great tease. Between the new Hines building and the possible consolidation of Wells Fargo space will be addi...

Re: Apartment Boom

Successful condo developments often follow a number of apartment projects. Renters move into a neighborhood and those who live there for a number of years may want to stay and buy their own condo. Being these projects take over a year to complete, I wouldn't be surprised if condo projects are announ...

Re: Downtown Office Market

i can see a tower that high. a combination of office, residential, perhaps a hotel. all of these types of mega buildings are a mix... competition for large office users exists in every metro in the country. there is nothing special about our situation. companies swap suburban for city and vice vers...
