Re: Penn and American
So is that 8-story building all wood-frame construction? I was looking through the pictures of it going up, and it seems only the first floor and elevator columns were made of concrete. I don't know much about building materials, etc. I thought there was a 6-story limit for "stick" constru...

Re: The Flats at West End - St. Louis Park
Apparently this is going in immediately south of the Homewood Suites hotel & east of Noodles. Interesting...I thought this project was actually one block further east, in the large vacant lots. Does anyone know what those vacant lots are planned for? That's a lot of prime real estate, adjacent t...

Re: Saints Lowertown Ballpark
Personally, I think a huge draw of the Saints was that they play outside. There was nothing more depressing than heading into the Metrodome on a beautiful evening. Now that Target Field exists, I'd like to hear how the Saints ticket sales have been trending the past 2.5 seasons. I'm not opposed to t...

Re: Calhoun Square
I agree, this is a great fit for Calhoun Square. I recently found out that Urban Outfitters is owned by some douche who makes political donations to Rick Santorum. I'll try not to shop there anymore. I was pretty shocked when I found out that Express used to have a Calhoun Square location. They need...

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
If it's door to door, I think you could possibly get a liquor store on the 1st Avenue side of the K-Mart parcel, measuring from Lake Wine & Cheese's front door (which is actually west of Grand, not Pleasant).

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
Without getting into the fray of things, IMO the best possible outcome for Trader Joe's AND Greater Uptown is a store at the corner of a re-opened Lake & Nicollet.
