Lowa46 - 46th & Hiawatha Cub Foods Mixed Use
Saw this in the Longfellow/Nokomis Messenger, http://www.longfellownokomismessenger.com/wishing-for-a-large-grocery-store-on-south-side-of-longfellow/ Community engagement meeting Jan. 3 at 730p, Longfellow Rec. Center. Looks very interesting. EDIT: Preliminary plans http://www.minneapolismn.gov/www...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
Is it OK to scan your Go-to card and continue to your seat if the person in front of you is still dumping his change in the fare box? I've always waited for that person to finish and move to his seat before scanning my card and getting the OK from the bus driver, but not sure that is necessary. I've...

Re: Southside - General Topics
A couple of mentions to the East Lake Tim Horton's location, maybe what talindsay and scottie were referring to. Not official I guess, but pretty close: http://www.citypages.com/restaurants/tim-hortons-opens-to-long-donut-loving-lines-at-mall-of-america/401724996 https://twitter.com/StribEwoldt/stat...

Re: Southside - General Topics
It was definitely closed this morning, which I thought was odd.

Re: Southside - General Topics
Nice! Thanks for the update and link. I was hoping for something that would cater more to the AM crowd, but PM is probably a better bet for that spot. Wonder if there's room for more than 1 establishment there? A small coffee shop in addition to the brewery would be perfect.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
Yep, the specific plans aren't set, but the vision for the area is pretty clear. I'm pretty certain big box retailers aren't part of that vision. Earlier reporting from I think, Fiftyfive.one/Brian Quarstad, mentioned an impasse on the price of the property also. That makes sense that there would be...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I'd guess the rainbow lease prohibits rk midway from selling or leasing their property to a grocery competitor. If rainbow agrees to relinquish their lease rights hyvee could conceivably set up a store along Pascal. The tenants in the same complex as rainbow closer to Pascal would receive a substan...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
But Hy-Vee wouldn't be able to take over the Rainbow spot if the stadium is sitting on top of it. There'd be no spot left.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I don't understand this reasoning, “HyVee would like to go in there, and that would just kill the Cub,” Livingston said. “It’s cheaper to have a near-empty store than have Hy-Vee come in there and kick the crap out of you. You don’t keep a store like that open unless it’s to keep you from getting yo...

Re: L&H Station - Lake & Hiawatha TOD
Took this picture this morning. Window framing going in on the ground floor. Plaza is shaping up between the building and the LRT station. Will be nice once they open up the bus stop and the right lane of traffic on Lake St. here again.

Re: Open Streets
Yes! Streets for People! I wonder what it would take to do an Open Streets somewhere along 94 or 35W? The longer proposed routes for 2017 are going to be a challenge for me. I don't usually have enough time to get thru the existing routes, making them longer is gonna rush me. Unless they add on time...

Re: Open Streets
The East Lake/Minnehaha route bums me out. Chopping off the far east end of Lake sucks. I feel like East Lake and Minnehaha could have their own days. Figured that Minnehaha would be back in the mix now that construction is over though. I guess it's a matter of funding. Nice to see the Nicollet rout...

Lol https://www.greatagain.gov/policy/transportation-infrastructure.html I saw your lol and thought to myself, how inappropriate to laugh at this moment, but realized you have it right. I thought of this song, Preciso Me Encontrar, and this line, "Vou por aí a procurar. Rir pra não chorar"...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
My family caught some of the filming of "Wilson" at 35th and Minnehaha. Woddy Harrelson was riding around on a bike between his shots in the area and my wife didn't recognize him. A film crew guy pointed him out to her. Guess he blended in well. Interestingly enough, that's right around th...

Construction going on at 3400 42nd Ave S, across from Turtle Bread. This used to be Keller's Auto Service. The business going in there is Belle's ToolBox, http://belles-toolbox.blogspot.com/ Not much info on it yet, but this is from the remodeling inspection permit details: APPROX 13 X 17 RESTROOM/E...

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting
I tried the TDM service and it wasn't up to snuff for me in Longfellow. Actually not a very good experience. I had less than 1 Mbps speed after the initial installation. I thought, mistakenly, that another tech was going to come out and install a dish that was supposed to improve the signal. That en...
