Re: 222

Oh yep, every body is right, that would have been nice. Oh well, I love the current design too. Especially since something was lacking in the taller design but the current design is and will be successful.

Re: Downtown Crime

I am not sure about all that actually being possible but I like the idea in general. A radio or T.V. under glass is a good idea. I am not sure people would really appreciate needing to walk over a bus stop though.

Re: 222

I feel good about the design. Nice material choice, especially if they go with dark metal like shown. The side facing away from Washington is the most plain, but it seems a lot like the other development near the river. The Washington side and even the Hennepin side are really good, broken up masses...

Re: 222

Does anyone have renders of the project that we can post? I really like the design, with the square corner and the tower like structures. A reminder would be nice. Thank you

Re: Nicollet Residences

I don't think I agree with that. I am pretty sure there is more density in Loring, the only thing that breaks it up is that school.

Re: Lake & Nicollet

I am interested in that the proposed area for redevelopment includes the wells fargo another block south. If Kmart and WF teams up they could probably work something good out for that space and then work to better devote the area facing the greenway to housing, as values are increasing on the green ...

Re: Nicollet Residences

27 stories is just fine. We just need to create demand to push up instead of out. People will want those upper floor apartments and developers will follow suit. Two towers started this year, a couple more in the next year, and we will be booming. I think we will easily pass our goals of 35,000 new d...

Re: Radisson Blu

I should mention. The MOA is hideous, so it's pretty cool that this is going up and blocking some of the view of the mall. Everyone, knows that the Mall is there, so this creates sort of a synergy. I am hopeful that something like this will happen on the other sides of the mall as well.

Re: The Walkway

I agree with Wedge guy. It could have been worse and the parts that have not been completed yet can add a lot. The pedesterian walkway created from Flux, Mozaic, Lagoon theater, down to City Walk will be great, hopefully it doesn't just come to a dead end at that Calhoun square parking ramp and vaca...

OK I will share with you my WILDEST FANTASY ! 1) This November Democrats go crazy and vote like like it was 1998 and vote in a 3rd party but with a Democratic majority! 2) With the republican Party now silenced Gov. Mark Dayton goes WILD and fast tracks the SW LRT line so fast that the project is o...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations

I disagree, You can put up barrier posts like you see in Europe that are cement but still allow pedestrians to pass between them. The food truck/entertainment space could simply be a wide shoulder or pull off on Calhoun Parkway. By placing pedestrians here, it forces people to slow down before they ...

RED TRIANGLE

Why not a big ole' fountain with some benches and a place to pull up a food truck or for entertainers of some sort, like musicians to busk or clowns or artist?

Re: Target Center Renovation

I like the sobriety of your posts Nathaniel.

We should engage the pedestrian level at the Target Center with business that can survive. Maybe we can build out retail space under the large eaves there. That could maybe generate some dinero?

Let's talk about that.

I think we should convert Portland Ave and Washington Ave into roads with protected bike lanes.

What do you think?

Thank you for posting that video. You tennis stadium idea is awesome. That is one of the most unique ideas I have heard on this board in a while and I find it inspiring. The Twin cities has, in my opinion, an under-served population of tennis players but if there was a way to tap into the growing te...
