Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
Hiawatha Guy - thanks for the response. Actually, Johnson supports the Senate's version of medical marijuana so he actually beats Dayton on the issue. Dayton was completely opposed to it until he saw some political fallout from the protesters outside the Governor's Mansion. I am voting for IP candid...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
You can't equate politicians on one issue. I agree that on transportation Dayton has been a failure. But he's been surprisingly good on a lot of other things. What has Johnson ever done? To me there is no comparison. The reason I won't vote for Dayton again is how he fumbled the medical cannabis is...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
Not sure how anyone in the city would be inclined to support Jeff Johnson, as bad as Dayton is when it comes to structural reform of how we spend on mobility. We are really in a situation this fall with two awful candidates, and choosing the lesser of two evils. Really unfortunate. What about Hanna...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
No, it sounds like a pretty silly idea to me. "You should subsidize our park and rides, because if you don't, we'll just drive, and you won't be effected by it anyway!" E: this is a complicated nuanced thing, but I still think that's just a really bad argument if you play it out logically...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
Sure the subsidy is higher for park and ride riders but they are helping to alleviate congestion by making the choice to use transit for the remainder of their commute. Transit, just like automobiles, is heavily subsidized. I am not one of those dillusional people who would pretend that the gas taxe...

Re: 610 Corridor - Brooklyn Park
Always great to get other perspectives, but how can one even dispute the assertion that the interchanges on 610 are too big? Compare them to any others around the metro, and you'll see that the size of the loops on the cloverleaf at 169, and the length of the acceleration lanes on the diamond inter...

Cannabis Law Reform
I would love to hear what others think about Colorado (or Washington) style legalization in Minnesota. How do others feel about the medicinal law that was passed? I followed the issue closely and personally I was very unhappy with the result. While better than nothing the bill that passed was the Ho...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
Hooray, someone else from BP! (I don't live there any more, but I grew up there.) I am very excited for this line. The cornfields thing bugs me too. I know right, I was thinking "yes, the line stops at a cornfield and you walk into the field of dreams." Interestingly enough the land owner...

Re: 610 Corridor - Brooklyn Park
1- The reason for the expansion was that the old lot across the street was running above capacity for at least a few years. The ridership from this location is actually one of, if not the, highest across the entire metro. I was told this by Metro Transit. Also, the new facility gave us many enhancem...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)
I am new here so hopefully I don't start out making enemies. The biggest issue facing transit here is that we need to get more funding as a metropolitan area and you won't get buy in from everyone unless you improve both freeways and transit. There seems to be a significant amount of misrepresentati...
