Re: The Penfield - (101 10th Street East)

This very well may be one of the ugliest buildings I've seen.

Re: Rental Concessions for Lux*ry Apartments

Elan Uptown has one month free.

With this project, in particular, I'm curious when they will start lowering rates. They are ridiculously overpriced now.

Re: Downtown Restaurant News

In related efforts, we're going to require that the twins offer sunglasses for everyone attending so that their eyes have the appropriate level of shading. Can we preemptively add this law to dayton's "unsession" agenda, as this is one of the most ridiculous proposals I've ever seen. I'm a...

Re: Minneapolis Riverfront

This is awesome. I do worry, however, that funding something this transformative will be challenging given Park plans for DTE and the Gateway district. That said, this easily blows the other two out of the water.

EDIT: Can't forget the North Loop's efforts to develop a park as well.

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium

It looks like they've added more glass to the sides than what they had on previous renderings. This is a big improvement, it was just one big hulking wall of stone before.

That said, I still think this is a fairly ugly stadium that will not stand the test of time.

Re: Uptown Retail News

I suspect it will be the space on washington ave in the mill district that is supposedly being developing for an international furniture company... If not there, probably somewhere near the Galleria in Edina.

Re: The Walkway - (1312 West Lake Street)

The number of materials used in this project is... interesting (putting politely). It almost as if this was the first building the architect ever designed so they decided to include everything they could think of; and gave no thought to how that would actually tie together.

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations

Unfortunately , Opus couldn't get the financing for their original 33 story design which was better. I can't fault them for that as lenders were wary and we just were coming out the "Great Recession". However, I do think they should have modified the shorter design so the massing was less...

Completely agree. I hope they don't try to do anything tacky (a zip line?! Seriously!?). Just do something classy and timeless

Re: The Walkway - (1312 West Lake Street)

I agree, trying to reserve judgement until I can see the final product here. One of the things I do find odd is that they choose to go with pine trees for the sidewalk.... Again trying to reserve too much judgement though.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

anyone notice the shadow in the lower right hand corner of the updated image? Are they assuming the ugly and dilapidated star tribune building will stick around?
