Re: Vicinity - 205 Park Avenue (Mill District Ramp Parcel)
Doesn't sound like they want it sounds like they already signed a 5 years lease to a company. Seeing as this was a this was a parcel of Minneapolis owned land this is pretty dumb. We are already short on housing and now we are giving a huge chunk of that to short term rentals. 24ish of the remaining...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
Broadway NE (County Highway 66) open house coming up soon; May 14 at Able. https://www.hennepin.us/broadwaystreet reading through some of the meeting minutes and it seems like they are really considering the 4 to 3 conversion. it even got an exclamation mark in the minutes. Sounds like it is more l...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
Just wondering if anyone knows what they are doing along 35w north of 4th st se and the pedestrian bridge. They have both sides of the highway embankment torn up and it almost looks like they are putting in a new footing for something.

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N
Not to change the topic but this references the T3 building and some of the renderings have wooden columns. Anyone know if this will be all wooden construction? T3 paved the way for that as it was the first mass timber building over 5 stories in the country at 7 stories. That building has an awesome...

Re: 1400 Park Avenue
It’s been two-and-a-half years since developers received approvals to build a 240-unit market rate apartment building on a mostly vacant half-block of the Elliot Park neighborhood on the outskirts of downtown Minneapolis. Excavation work has begun and the city on Feb. 8 issued a demolition permit f...

Re: Raymond Station area developments
There is another garage door under there that leads to the apt parking. I think it goes down another level bellow that as well for residences.
I agree with you tho I think there are and will be a lot of people in the area that can just walk to the retail in those areas.

Re: Car Sharing / Rental (Car2Go, HourCar, etc.)
Saw that Lime was introducing a Car2Go like service in Seattle just made me remember when it was here and how useful it was. Maybe we can find a way to make it fair but not chase every transportation alternative away this time.

Re: Raymond Station area developments
It will be interesting to see how much parking these apartments in the area need. The underground parking at nearby Prospect Park station apartments, Fresh Thyme grocery store seems pretty under-utilized - like I've never seen it more than half full. But my condos near Westgate Station seem to use ...

I also don't get why they don't have them slope the site down more to meet the river road instead of keeping the wall the way it is now. It would really connect that side of the neighborhood to the river again. The bike trail is between river road and their property so that is a limiting factor. I ...

See as it looks today Sears is making it out of bankruptcy, they said they plan to keep as many sears and Kmart stores open as possible. looks like this might be even a little longer before anything happens. On the bright side many radioshack and others prove getting out of bankruptcy once doesnt me...

Re: Midtown Corridor Rail & Lake Street aBRT (B Line)
I call BS on fiber optics. There is absolutely no reason the system needs the bandwidth fiber supplies. If they're taking the opportunity to lay fiber for other services, that's one thing, but aBRT is *not* driving the laying of fiber. Whoever said that is either terribly misinformed or has some ag...

Big cost of this is the road construction part, on the C line Minneapolis and Hennepin county wanted all of Penn street reconstructed at the same time (including street lights and stoplights). A lot of the streets in Minneapolis have old street car rails underneath which are difficult and costly to ...

Re: We have 30 Days of Biking; why not 30 Days of Transit?
Love this idea. Just some other apps to add to the list would be the Transit App or CityMapper. Citymapper doesnt work in the twin cities but both of these apps live track the buses giving you more up to date timing and allow for more confidence in reaching your bus on time.

The information boards require a lot of work as well as installing and testing of all the signal priority systems. On top of that the electric buses and their charging stations have yet to start being delivered and installed.

Does anyone know if they've started procuring the actual buses yet? Hopefully they can get some experience with the full electric buses on the C Line before they commit to diesels for this. The electric buses for the C line are to start being delivered in the next month or so. The charging systems ...
