Re: George Floyd murder and aftermath
The uncle of Darnella Frazier (the young girl who filmed George Floyd's murder) was killed by the Minneapolis Police department. He was hit by a squad car in a high speed chase.

Re: Uptown-LynLake-Wedge - News & General Topics
Why does the "local art community" think the Uptown Art Fair is a laughingstock? What are the issues? What do you mean by the local art community? Because it's essentially pay to play and the majority of the artists are not from Minnesota. So it does not do a good job of supporting the lo...

The uptown art fair is definitely a laughing stock amongst the twin cities art community. It sounds like a great excuse.
They typically have tons of police presence so I doubt security was the issue.

I don't live in mpls anymore but they really love it. Great rooftop, they actually have a great view of the city. The fans from the federal reserve can be a bit obnoxious I guess. But they're really enjoying it.Have you gone over for a visit yet?I have friends moving in here June 1st!

Re: Uptown-LynLake-Wedge - News & General Topics
Re juut leaving... It seems to me that most of the people living in the uptown area might be going other places. There's a lot more competition now and maybe trendier places. No need for people from the suburbs to come into the city anymore now that they've expanded out there. A sign that denser nei...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image
To be clear the general perception I'm getting is that Minneapolis is racist and has scary police... and not at all that it's unpoliced and crime ridden because the police have been removed.

Re: Seven Points Uptown (Calhoun Square)
Can we just agree it's a badly scaled rendering and leave it at that? It's clearly meant to fit on the vacant lot, but they didn't shrink it down enough in that image.
Poorly scaled!? I thought that was what were all about!

Re: Uptown-LynLake-Wedge - News & General Topics
I was just browsing around on the Hennepin Co Property map as one does for hours in pandemic fueled mania... and trying to figure out/fantasize about the best and next uptown developments. I've long thought the lot east of lunds would and should go soon. But in inspecting the area just to the west I...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
What is going on 1 block south of 240/Gateway on Hennepin? I got told to gear up for a partial demo, drill and set retention, and a bunch of foundation shotcrete work. Hmm I know that there's been a lot of talk and need of work on the 90s... but haven't seen anything specific lately. What else is t...

Re: 17 North Washington - CA - 27 stories - ~300'(?)
I can respect that view point and I do think we need to save some of the modernist buildings in the city and if this was the Northwestern National Life Building I would be up in arms if they wanted to tear it down. I just dont see this one as significant. I also rather like the new proposal A part ...

Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'
When they had the Doors Open event in Minneapolis and I toured the facility... they talked a lot about recent investments and how much they love the building. Someone asked if they'd ever move and they said no. It's no where in the planning for the next few decades. I'm not optimistic about any of t...
