Re: Mill City Quarter - 300 South 2nd Street

I swear I heard a CVS was supposed to open here, but can't seem to find anything on it. Today there was a "space available" sign in the retail windows. Anyone know anything?

Re: "Taking City Streets Back from Cars"

I got the sense that it was wider, actually. Not sure if that's because they replaced the red brick pavers with plain asphalt though.

Re: "Taking City Streets Back from Cars"

I was thinking that as well. It's kind of a bummer that an entirely new neighborhood is being built, and yet its streets are still primarily 3 lane one ways with on street parking.

Re: City of Minneapolis Offices Consolidation

I dunno. In my own very simplistic point of view, 1300 less spaces = 1300 less car commuters = 1300 less cars that can be pointed to when we try to make downtown streets more attractive by reducing lanes and adding greenery = more inviting downtown = Good overall

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

There's appears to be a new Indian restaurant that popped up in the old Taste of Thailand space on 7th just east of Hennepin. It's been there for at least a month or so.

Yeah the post spacing is pretty pathetic, especially compared to what could've been.

Parks in general or just the Commons? I was under the impression it was just the Commons.

The windows have been stripped at the old building. I'd expect demolition to begin soon.

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)

The grey concrete plaza was pretty active tonight. Would be even better if we threw some movable wooden boxes and flatbars in there and then put them in storage on non event days!

The woonerf would be alley access only. No new curb cut. There would be seating and sculptures along the sidewalk.

Re: Satirical Instructional Video for Driving Etiquette

I remember watching an incredibly racist video for my driver's ed class about 12 years ago. It had some pretty bad stereotypes. I just remember it showed a couple of black male drivers that fell asleep at the wheel. They were really dopey and reminded me of racist cartoons from way back. Did anyone ...

Just got this in an email regarding two proposals at 3329 Nicollet Ave: Just wanted to let you all know that the Lyndale Neighborhood Meeting on Monday evening, July 25th is going to start at 6:00pm instead of 6:30pm because we have two developers presenting plans for the vacant lot at 3329 Nicollet...

Wasn't it supposed to be ped/bike only in the first place? (With a skatepark that has now been forgotten.)
