Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Yeah, pretty cool stuff. There was some talk of doing 5th ave after. It's rough, but not as pedestrian unfriendly. I will upload some pictures of the presentation boards they had in the room. The plan is to have at least 6 foot wide sidewalks on both sides of streets, parallel parking, trees, and st...

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
No, this was the first community planning meeting for the N 6th Ave repaving/ rebuilding. Pedestrian improvements, along with restoration/ replacement of the pavers on the road.
As for the walking tour, seems cool, but I live in the hood. Seems pretty cool though.

Re: Stick vs. Concrete Construction
Interesting read, especially considering that my building just turned about a year old. My building is concrete base with wood construction on top and is finally "dry." I found out that there is some settling that occurs which can cause very small shifting in the drywall. I wonder if some o...

Re: the cross merge
Ah ha, cloverleaves? Uh, yeah, 36. That's one of the worst. 100 feet for me to get over, and for someone to get on, either behind or in front of me. All while going 55 or 60. How does incoming traffic end up going 60 coming off an on ramp anyway? I suppose the lane defender thing is what drives me c...

Re: the cross merge
That's probably a bad example since usually the cross merge lane only exists for the duration of the entrance/exit.

Re: the cross merge
No. Although, those can be a wild ride. Nothing gets the heart pumping like getting on to 94 west from 280 and getting off at Huron in rush hour traffic. Wooo!

the cross merge
Ok, this one has been bugging me for a while. What is with the cross merge in Minnesota? I swear there are more cross merges coming on and off the highways here than in all neighboring states combined! Is there some local geographical feature that makes them a necessity? Also, what is with the two l...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
So why don't we have these around stations to keep pedestrians off the tracks at station entrances?

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
Two questions: 1. What is driver behavior like around streetcars vs buses? I've never seen streetcars in action, but I would imagine people might steer clear of them since they're on a fixed track? 2. What kind of impact will this have on the LRT tracks at 5th st and Nicollet? Is installing track cr...

Re: Local Business Recomendations
Yeah, if your suit can't handle any liquid it's screwed. Natures miracle enzyme based "urine destroyer" is the only product that I've seen that can really eliminate let odors.

Love the loading dock on the side. That's going to be awesome if well adorned. I just said adorned. Exciting.
