Re: United Properties SV Station Project
According to this post that includes a map from the business journal, it's a 22-story hotel and apartment building with an 11-story office component (600,000 sq ft).

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
As a Minneapolis resident, I love to see all these projects in Saint Paul too! It's nice to see, supports businesses in both cities, and all this development near the green line helps keep cars off the roads. Maybe the core cities will be up to a million people (total) in 50 or so years!

Re: Future cars / Driverless cars
It's also worth pointing out that even if the electric car is currently powered by coal or natural gas (making carbon emissions not much different than gas cars), some long-term carbon benefit comes from incrementally improving the infrastructure for lower-carbon transportation. Slightly higher dema...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site
With this and the new towers by the river (Legacy and Encore), I wonder if US bank stadium will even be very visible from the river or the 35W bridge in a few years...not trying to place value on that but just curious.

Re: Minneapolis Density and Population Growth (500k, etc)
Cool map! I wonder if we'll ever get to a point where any first ring burbs want to be annexed. The only way I see that happening is if a burb is in some sort of financial trouble and Minneapolis has grown enough to broaden its tax base and lower rates and/or improves services enough. I'm sure there'...

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)
Will the bridge allow for walking from one side of the tracks to the other, or just from that side of the tracks (westbound/northbound) across Chicago Ave? My impression is no, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something...

Re: Miami
This applies more to the far northern suburbs of Miami and West Palm, but I was pretty shocked at the number of gated communities in places like Jupiter and Juno Beach. When I got back here I realized how different it was to see houses along public streets, after not seeing any for five days.

Re: Prince
I anticipate a mural downtown soon... I'd totally support that! Put a mural on a new development on the lot across Hennepin from the Dylan mural, with the Prince mural facing the Dylan mural. On the lot next to the Dylan mural, make a public plaza/park with references to Dylan and Price so they nev...

I can't remember (since things have changed so many times)...are they still doing the preliminary park with the big lawn for a few years before they make the permanent one?

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
I personally thought renaming the street because it is affiliated with a rival was just a lazy argument. For that reason, everyone in this forum is now dumber for having listened to it. I award them no points, and may God have mercy on their soul. But for real, they definitely just botched a p...
