yeah most people call those things freeway ramps.
i did not realize that was there - a 10-block long elevated on/off ramp. wow, how did the city let that happen?

20 units with 4 bedrooms each = 80 bedrooms. So that could house between 80 to 160 students.
That's kind of a big deal.

Also, the city will have to forgive fans who want to drink in public though....maybe 5th street will be an exception to the rule? I don't see how else you can drink on the street legally. Also, people can and should be allowed to bring their own food (and beer) if they want to, and use the food tru...

Re: Saint Paul Union Depot
Just thought this would be interesting as a historical oddity -- digging around on the Central Corridor website, I came across a 2008 plan for the Union Depot. This is very different from what is being finished up now... Once it was determined that the shops/yards facility was further east, the lrt...

those arches aren't going anywhere. Yes they are. Also, it looks like RT & Co. want to test out the arterial tailgating idea well before 2016. While it certainly won't replicate a traditional tailgating experience, I think this could work for the majority of fans. http://www.startribune.com/loc...

The park is still in the planning stages, but it's going to happen. City leaders and business execs are really pushing for a "central park" downtown, as well as redoing Nicollet Mall. the park concept includes that full block as well as a portion of the next two blocks to the north, formi...

i think the rest of the facade has been preserved as well but was removed for construction. it will be installed at a later date. that is my understanding from reading something by someone somewhere at some time in the past.

- Not really sure what is going on from Rice to Robert, or on Cedar St. I did see that the new bridge over I-94 is almost ready for a concrete pour. On University on the north side of the Capitol Building, there is substantial work yet to be completed. Right now, it is still very much a dirt/sand h...

Re: Intercity rail to Chicago
The high cost could be due to the addition of more than just one additional train per day. Perhaps they are estimating at the high end of passenger trains on the corridor, say a half dozen trains each way. That would likely necessitate additional sidings and double track sections. Some stations woul...

sometimes a late train is beneficial for us here in msp. i once caught a train that was 10 hours late, which allowed me to work a full day of work on friday. usually i would need to take a vacation day just to catch an eastbound train. that is ridiculous. we need three or four eastbound trains...
