The park board would go ape shit, but I do like how it cuts down on the number of stops and time shared with the blue line.Updated Map LinkCould you make that link public, it's asking me to request permission.
Sorry... pretty new to fetish map links.

Re: Riverview Corridor
Forget about trying to do transfers and connections at the 46th street station, how about just turning south at 55 and having 50th st be the first shared station. Yes, it comes tantalizingly close to the 46th street station but again when the goal is to interline with the blue line from MOA to the A...

Former Thrivent Building (now Hennepin) & Sora Apartments Block
Mod Note: This thread is for the existing Thrivent Building (now owned by Hennepin County) and the new parking ramp/apartment building proposed beside it. Discussion of the new HQ building proposed across 5th Ave goes here . http://www.startribune.com/business/279052521.html Another one bites the d...

Re: Riverview Corridor
I think there's a very good reason why the study area includes the Ford plant and the related rail spur. If this is going to be LRT then it's going over the river on the Ford Parkway bridge with a stop at the former plant to fulfill St. Paul's TOD fetishes. As much as we'd like to fantasize the fort...

Re: Nicollet-Central Streetcar
I think that where the stops are will largely depend on the Nicollet mall reconstruction project and where they have space, however I am a little disappointed by the number of stops overall, with fewer being better. Secondly, while I don't know the specific situation at each intersection, it seems l...

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium
My thoughts on this subject are mixed, but I'll preface them by saying I'm a downtown resident living in laurel villiage. First, MLS absolutely deserves a home in Minnesota and MN united has more than earned their spot as our state's representative in the Major leagues. I understand the sentiment of...

Just checking the strib app before I doze off and I see this nice article highlighting strong towns and its founder. On the front page. At least until AP goes to trial.

Re: Road Crime
I said absolutely nothing in blame of the victim. The crash was an absolute tragedy, and like everyone else, I hope the driver is brought to justice. My objection was directed at phrasing that seemed to make this individual's tragedy into an issue of transit users (collectively) versus drivers (col...

Might already be in this thread somewhere, but $10 million in federal funding to upgrade highway 10 to a freeway through Ramsey. Oh and a pedestrian bridge somewhere. Wasn't the Northstar built specifically to avoid this?

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
The Vikings just released a new stadium update touting the Stadium's connection to the skyway system through the bridge we already knew about. However, it also shows HCMC being connected to the rest of the system along the south side of the mall via the armory. Maybe they made a mistake, or maybe Wi...

Now does anybody know if the Laurel Village the building between 11th and 12th on Hennepin is build to accommodate a skyway either private or public?

As discussed in another thread the empty block west of the A Ramp may eventually be developed after t...

I think it was a part of BNSFs 2015 capital plan, but I'm not sure.
Also, since when did they have Sunday service outside of vikings games and can I use it to avoid the horrible traffic on I-94 coming back from a cabin?

Re: Grandview District Redevelopment - Edina
I actually think that freeway lids will develop first in the wealthy suburbs before being attempted in the core cities. The suburb's are only financially sustainable so long as there is new land to develop, and for an inner ring suburb like Edina this is pretty much the only way that will happen. St...

Re: Rochester - General
True, sadly. Example: Mayo is pushing for a MSP terminus for ZipRail rather than a SPUD terminus (with future extension to Target Field). Short-sighted, self-interested is fine.... but not when it's the primary voice. I think the zip rail debate is all the more reason why Rochester needs light rail...
