Re: Major League Soccer in Minneapolis
This Minnesota vs. Minneapolis topic is an interesting one, and it's all about brand recognition. You would think Minneapolis would push harder, as mentioned earlier, to have their name plastered on its pro teams. Miami had it as a condition on its stadium deal with the Marlins baseball team. Many t...

New MinnPost article on Ayd Mill. Apparently there's more of a sense of urgency for a solution as of late.

I wonder what the chances are of a high-rise somewhere in there? There are already two in the area.

Re: Highland Park Target Express
I guess there's not any money for redoing the exterior of the building. Too bad, because it really is crappy. Good point. I'm assuming there are strict exterior facade requirements considering the new buildings that have gone up in the area as of late (Walgreens, Schuler, Pieology). Would have been...

So are you saying we can forget about all the renderings we've seen because the actual building will in reality be something very different?

There was an ad for the Red Line preceding the movie I saw on Saturday at Regal Cinema in Eagan. That should solve the ridership problem.

Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery
Every time I jump back into this, I become more and more convinced there's something more sinister at play here than fooling forumers. Here's a profile I dug up in the fake ring of profiles: "Samuel Horowitz," a private investor from NYC. This isn't a character that ever popped up on SSC (...

Taller, Better. Who's the admin for N. America said that the IP's were all strung together and pointed back to Milwaukee. There might be more accounts so who knows. Always possible that Rick was in Milwaukee at the time, but who the hell knows now. There's definitely more accounts. "John_Seatt...

Re: Rejected projects
Is it accurate to say this was rejected? Or was it actually a huge unrealistic pantasy that collapsed under its own weight? I lived in St. Paul throughout the entire time this Bridges project was being floated. I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt it was actually rejected by the city. From what ...

Rejected projects
Just came across this project from 2007, "The Bridges of St Paul," a $1.5 billion 33-acre mixed-use development plan across the river from downtown St Paul. This was before I closely followed development news, so I'm curious what you all thought of this project and if it should have gone f...

Has anyone heard where the "Rainforest Café" is moving into? The jungle-themed restaurant said it will close its current first-floor location at MOA Jan. 18, with plans to open what it calls a "new and improved" restaurant along the megamall's third-floor restaurant row in the f...
