Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
For what it's worth, I happened to be in Rainbow yesterday and I asked an employee about their impending closure. He told me that the employees haven't been told anything as of yet. He implied that it's business as usual for the time being and doesn't anticipate the store shutting down any time soon.

Re: Prospect Park - General Topics
With all the new construction, (housing, athletic infrastructure, and restaurants) I wonder if a stop would ever be put in near 29th or 30th on the intercampus bus way.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I saw a picture of some jersey barriers on Snelling ave near Spruce tree lane. Is that related to the demo or site preparation?
Does anyone know when the MN legislature will be giving the project the green light (from a tax exemption standpoint)?

Re: 333 on the Park / Sibley Square
I was just wondering the same thing. It looks like they are already doing interior work, so my guess is that they will be leaving the old windows in. I like how on the Rayette building remodel, the windows can be opened.

I wonder what the point is of having a ceremonial ground breaking then with so many uncertainties.

Re: Saint Paul Union Depot
Forcing people into the building to make the building active shouldn't be a primary consideration for Riverview's route planning. Harming that line and forcing transfers to be more difficult just to make the depot seem active would be a poor choice. But isn't that what the building was designed for...

Agreed. They should use the concourse for the new Riverview line.

Re: Road Crime
Last Saturday morning at 2am someone drove their car onto the LRT tracks just west of SPUD. The got wedged in the interlocking units. After they hoisted the car out of there they had to check over all infrastructure before letting the train leave. No biggie since it was 2am, but essentially the trai...

Re: Weyerhaueser site redevelopment - 700 Emerald St
So, any suggestions for adaptive reuse of the Wabash Ave railroad bridge over MN-280? Or would that simply be torn down? Hopefully they can utilize that ROW and make it into a cycle track that connect the property with the new St Paul Grand Rounds on Pelham. I ride Wabash daily, it's not that bad a...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I think the property tax break passed with the tax bill. The liquor license too. No dice on the sales tax exemption.
But isn't that a deal breaker? I thought they wanted to start in June, no?

Bravo. How wonderful and cool. Perhaps the hotel will have a bar which will help fill the void of the Top Hat. I couldn't open the article, did they give a timeline as to when they were going to start this? On a side note, what a great way to keep DTSP office vacancy rates in check, by utilizing the...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
To me it seemed like mostlyright, birdpeep, Krossman, and kenw1952 were at best indifferent to the project. Were they not complaining about tax payer subsidized stadiums and having billionaires finance their own project?
