Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

Nice shot, Eric. Is there any date set for the official ground breaking? The latest renderings of the base of this tower are a significant improvement over the jumble in earlier renders. This won’t be a great addition to the cityscape, but it will be a good one. I only wish they could have warmed th...

Re: 800 Washington Ave S (Guthrie Ramp liner development: Reloaded)

I'm hoping against hope that AECOM can pull this off. It would be a terrific addition to the Washington Ave. corridor. I suppose that adding several more stories to this project does require a lot of new work from the architects, the finance people and who knows what else. This is one of the most no...

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 48 stories / 550'

Im wondering if the Four Seasons Hotel chain had anything to do with the limited number of condo units in the Gateway. Perhaps they were looking for a more restrictive and expensive approach to the housing component. Their name appears to be attached to the condos, which is some people's minds would...

Re: Bergan's Redevelopment - Cedar & Minnehaha Parkway

This is a decent proposal. Now if someone would just come along a build a remake of the old Dave's Popcorn that used to be on the opposite side of Cedar, the corner will be nearly perfect! The popcorn was perfect and even the long summer lines waiting to pick some up were fun.

Re: 240 Park Ave S - Zygi's Apartments - 18 stories - 188'

The Wilfs are really starting to have a bigger footprint in the Twin Cities. Besides the progress on this property they are well out of the ground on the 14 story hotel at Viking Lakes. 240 Park may not be the most attractive new apartment tower in the city, but it will build up Washington Avenue qu...

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 48 stories / 550'

I have not had a chance to drive by this site for a long time. Is there much activity? Anyone have pictures that are current or recent? I've been watching other Stern towers go up and most of them look like scaled up or scaled down versions of 11. I have no doubt this will be a handsome tower but fo...

Re: 301 Nicollet - Opus (details TBA on 6/10)

It would be wonderful to fill this hole in the mall landscape. I'm not expecting much since it is Opus and ESG teaming up on this, but even a decent background building would be a plus. The office option they showed is certainly the more interesting of the two spec pictures they released earlier, bu...

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

That has to be one of the most expensive bus shelters ever built. It should be bronzed and relocated to the Northeast corner of the block where it can quietly wait for the streetcar. If the streetcar never arrives, it will serve as a nice memorial to ideas that never made it off the ground.
