Re: Lower St. Anthony Falls Whitewater Park
I love kayaking and think that would be cool, but I can't picture it being something I would do frequently. A river-side pool (like I saw in at least one of the concepts for the upper river plan) would be amazing and attract people of all ages/types. There should be some way to better interact with ...

Re: 350 North Fifth Street
I don't see what's awkward about these simple, spare towers. This is amazing news! A major organization is looking to relocate in our downtown, at the new and exciting edge of the CBD, at the confluence of our train lines, directly across from the new transit station and our brand new, acclaimed bal...

Re: Dock Street Apartments
Do you have a link for these renders? They don't show for me (says I don't have permission to view) and I haven't been able to find them on the Hines site.

Re: Lowry Avenue Bridge
I am so excited for the completion of these two bridges - and for Broadway to finally not be such a disaster every evening. I'll have to run down and take some updated pics soon. I noticed a work truck on the Plymouth bridge last night, but there's not much to see.

Re: Superior Plating site
Now THAT is a response everybody on this forum should appreciate. I think Minneapolis is doing a remarkable job of adding bike routes in very short order. 1st Avenue shouldn't remain the way it is now for long, and I can live avoiding most of that stretch by bike until then...

Re: Superior Plating site
But I love that little shortcut between Holiday and that miniature insurance building. It makes it very easy to scoot through from SE to NE.

Re: Trader Joes (Lyndale and 27th)
This is the Planning Commission doing just what they're supposed to — ensuring development happens in an orderly fashion, doesn't adversely impact the infrastructure and isn't excessively out of character with its surroundings. If they still want a Minneapolis location, they'll find one and have to ...

I'm pretty excited about this one. Too bad they couldn't incorporate a mural wall to honor the old site. I did a great photo shoot at the Merit Printing lot for work many years ago - fond memories.

Re: 129 Plymouth Ave N
I drive by this lot every day on my commute, and have often wondered what could possibly fill this space. It's awkwardly shaped and not very large. I'm happy to see something going in, but it does look suburban. This part of the city, toward Broadway, has made some big strides in the last few years ...

Re: IDS Center
From somebody who's only seen a few significant buildings thrown up since moving here in 2000, it seems so radical somebody built the IDS Center that tall when the rest of the city was a sea of low- to mid-rise buildings. While it may not be the greatest, it's my favorite skyscraper in any city.

Here are a few pics I took this weekend. Walking around the site, I didn't realize how much open land is north-northwest of this site. Lots of opportunities out there, but the North Loop's rapid development is impressive. http://tomabouttown.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/wholefoods_11.jpg http://tomab...

Re: 1368 LaSalle Ave development
What a beautiful rendering - can't wait to see if this happens. It is June, after all... If I had to choose which would be built - 1368 LaSalle or Nicollet and 5th, I'd go with the latter for its impact on street life, but this would be a nicer addition to the skyline.
