Re: IDS Center

I just wanted to get this out there:

I'm under the age of 40 (not by a lot, but by a decent chunk). I very much DO give a sh*t about the IDS.... Not just for its historical significance... but because of its design as well.

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment

25k sq foot floor plates are too high. Think more in the line of 12-15k per floor. This is the space we're talking about: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HwADqnlqMkU/VGJ-eyAl_BI/AAAAAAAAA80/zZgs0fMh2QI/s912/TCF%2520Redevelopment%2520Concept.jpg The big box is the entire block. The smaller box (up...

Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium

I'm willing to bet that the Wilfs have plenty of influence on the stadium being the tallest point in the area. They can't have their shiny, new, expensive toy dwarfed by something else bigger and shinier.
the wells fargo towers are 301 ft.

the stadium is 272 ft.

Re: Opus Ritz Block Development

If everyone on Wikipedia discussed what their favorite part about Nicollet mall, or what Minneapolis city council should do on the Minneapolis page rather than being corrected to facts it wouldn't be a very good resource for anyone. This site strives to be a good resource about projects happening i...

Re: Opus Ritz Block Development

I'm not believing any of it until I actually see an official proposal. Like I said previously, it could go back up to 50-60 stories in a week and we wouldn't even know it. People who have information were actually surprised that the 2 30 story plans hit the press because that still wasn't settled o...

Re: Opus Ritz Block Development

Okay so that's still 2 ~300' buildings and a well designed corner piece Nic on 5th = 26 floors and 288 ft 4marq = 30 floors and 313 ft xcel = 9 floors and 161 ft. ;) I know we're all a bit bummed. However, just know that there are more than a few sites around town where 500-700' + towers (even one ...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

I briefly chatted with a lawyer. He looked over 3d warehouse's terms of use. Apparently anyone is allowed to use any of models in any of their work so long as they've made significant changes to the overall composition. I guess they added buildings to my 3... so they did make changes. However, only ...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Could "in context to the surrounding buildings" really mean that they want that highest point of the stadium to be the tallest spot on that end of town. The Vikings proposal at 18 stories is the same as the Wells Fargo towers. (Right?) How tall (in stories) would that point be on the stad...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Updated strib story notes a potential broadcast space in the Wilf proposal. Anyone know who that could be for? sounds like it's just general broadcast space... leased out. Hey NBC... Sunday Night Football is happening at the stadium... you want some broadcast space across the street? Hey ESPN... th...

so... I'm just trying to understand this... Ryan and Mortenson competed for this. Ryan had a bigger proposal and won. Ryan's hotel portion was dropped. Ryan said they wouldn't pay as much without a hotel. Ryan added more residential units to replace the lost hotel portion. Vikings get upset that Rya...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

Yeah... the height of the building will depend on how big each floor is. However, for some perspective: Nic on 5th is 253 units, 26 floors, 288 ft 4arq is 262 units, 30 floors, 313 ft LPM is 354 units, 36 floors, 376 ft This project is to have 360 units... I imagine this to be on the scope of LPM......
