Re: Vikings Stadium Legislation/Financing Package

Can anyone remember the one other example of this type of financing discussed when they passed this? I thought it was in Iowa, but can't find it. Anyway, it failed miserably too. My contention has always been, where's the logic in handing out $300 dollar devices @ a bar? Seems like there is plenty o...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

Will 4Marq be that bulky? It's m b p's model of 4Marq, which looks pretty accurate. It is longer than it is wide. I had somebody ask, so I finally got SketchUp connected to Google and uploaded the Model if anyone wants to play around with it. ***It's not perfect, just an estimate. ***Hide the Strib...

^^^ Isn't there a good sized rail loop out the back of the OMF that will take up a large portion of the rectangle framed by 4th, US52, and your blue line?

Awesome. Just awesome. LRT: Is it possible closing Park and Portland would benefit the capacity of the Green and Blue lines and associated transfers at this station? Strib: So it's just gone then? Skyways: Have the circular conversation here: https://forum.streets.mn/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=166&...

Re: Vikings Stadium

Three quick pointed observations: 1. Most obvious the North roof pitch being completely solid would look better if it were broken up in anyway; streaks of windows, a running crease or two coming out from the West peak down to the East. 2. The East entrance apex looks like a lonely portal in a back a...

...particularly the blast-hardened ones that were built during the cold war. Huh the things ya never knew. The AT&T microwave towers were used for both civil and government communications. They were mostly built in the 50s and early 60s, and moved the Bell System's long-distance communications ...

This is how I pictured Glenn Gruenhagen on the MN house floor after he was quoted saying the following on the house floor:

(For the Simpsons fans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnaLRbbc-54 ) :) I really like the red and orange brick on the East part of the building. Reminds me of old clay brick/tile. ^^ -1 For keeping the circular arguments in check.

Any chance the "retail component” would be something bigger like a City Target, or the REI w/climbing wall (views of the new stadium and dtwn through glass atrium as you climb :) )?

I never noticed the pedestrian bridge maintaining the at grade sidewalk above all the greenway stairs waterfall awesomeness. Also, two building doors neatly tucked underneath the bridge on opposing ends.

Honestly, I don't think that people are as rabidly ideological about transit as the Strib comments section would lead you to think. Exactly... Which is why it's a low hanging fruit this year. The DFL has two years of control, they're trying to get the "unpopular" things out of the way thi...

I feel like these two "leaks" including the semi-translucent material and the height both point to a possible similar design as the one HKS proposed that almost looks like a swooping tent. We can really only go off the couple initial renderings they proposed but to me it sounds like they ...

Does anyone know if the field is expected to be below ground level? From a report in the EIS dated Feb. 25th, 2013: The new Stadium will have an approximate footprint of 750 feet by 850 feet... Most of the new structure will be founded below the Event Level elevation of 797'. This is slightly above...
