Re: Rochester Tower

Couldn't they save some cash by ending it at SW Station rather than Mitchell?

Is there a reason why they have a new outdoor field? Seems like they could have used the Saints stadium or vise versa.

Re: Road Geek Topics
The plan is that the right lanes to both 62 east and west will not be exit only at some point. MnDOT was building with the future in mind, for when 62 is six lanes east to 77 and west to 212. Also, I don't think the existing signage is that bad... it gets people to use the lanes until as late as pos...

Re: St. Croix River Crossing
It's a false dichotomy to claim we needed to choose between letting the existing bridge fall into the river and a new freeway bridge to the south. I've always thought it would make sense to have a bascule bridge feeding into downtown in place of the existing bridge. I know people complained that the...

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
Aren't there still taxi stands on most of the cross streets between Nicollet and Marquette? Doesn't seem like a big deal to walk a block for a taxi stand. Honestly the current situation is a mess anyways, with taxis lurking and getting in the way of buses later in the evenings.

That's exactly what he said. It's 24 minutes to go south from Stillwater to Hudson, cross over on 94, then north to Houlton. Is that worth $22 per crossing? Nope.

Re: St. Croix River Crossing
Is it anticipation of or the cause of future development? Long ago, I thought it made sense to build infrastructure in anticipation of its demand. We cannot afford this. Sure, it makes sense to do some planning, to figure out what corridors would likely require upgrades. Basic stuff like building ov...

Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor
No branches. That's what would make life better. If there's a good reason to have more service on a major road and then divide that service further out, call it two routes. I'd prefer this is done only where there's 10 min or better frequency on the combined route, thereby eliminating the need for l...
