Re: Ford Site Redevelopment

This is a very concerning aspect of the Ford Site that I had no idea existed until recently- a huge potentially toxic waste dump on the river floodplain: https://fmr.org/river-corridor-and-land-use-updates/area-c-overlooked-ford-site It's separate from the area being redeveloped, so it shouldn't hav...

Apartments for the other half of the block are back. Eight whole stories. What a waste.

Doesn't look like Surdyk's is going anywhere anytime soon, despite all of the tall new neighbors:

Re: St. Louis Park - General Topics

Unrelated, but have heard some rumors starting to float around the neighborhood that the strip mall hosting Micro Center may not be long for this world...

A slight shame, as I was really looking forward to taking the train to Micro Center.

Please just make the waterfall look like a waterfall and not a dam again. The problem with the falls is that they're ugly, not that we can't see them.

Re: Seven Corners: Hotel (30 stories) & Student Housing (12 stories)

Yiiiiikes.

If there's not a way to make this project happen on a space that's already mostly surface lot without preserving at least some of the existing small-scale buildings, it's not worth building.

Re: Melzer Block (E Hennepin between Univ and 4th) for Sale

I think most of the buildings have tenants that are fairly well established. I would think this is nothing more than the seller having a great opportunity to sell while the asset is maximized. This. This block is leased up more than I have seen it in years (if ever) with a lot of the tenants moving...

Viewed from Main Street, the side of this thing facing the river doesn't look half bad. Wish I could say that for the other three sides.
