Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development
I noticed fencing went up around what's left of the strip mall, are they going to tear it down (I know it was damaged during the riots)? Same with the liquor store in the old Perkins? or is it to keep people out while St. Paul fire/ATF investigate?

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
IIRC the Fridley station was built for tracks on both sides of the platform, I would think that would help more than anything.

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
I can't imagine anything happening with Cub or Target ( or anything else on that block for that matter) anytime soon especially since they just redid their stores, not to mention that Kraus-Anderson said that they were going to honor the existing leases when they bought that block.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
Forgive me but I don't have a lot of sympathy for the residents of Kenworth in this. If there was historical value to the trees or the land, I MIGHT have some sympathy, but 1,000 trees in a pretty wooded area isn't going to matter too much. aren't they going to replant as much as they can anyway?

Anyone know what they are building where the LRT curves off of 34th? Looks like a bunker of some kind. Thanks!

Realignment of Lexington and senior housing. We talked about this somewhere already. Will be interesting to see if this is the first of many along W 7th. https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2018/05/18/proposed-senior-living-community-on-st-paul-s-west.html [locked] Was by there today and it...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings
One thing I'm confused about is that I looked at the presentation slides from February. It said Bidirectional signaling would be installed from Target field to US Bank Stadium station. I haven't seen any evidence of that yet, or maybe I missed something, they also took out the train signals between ...

I could've sworn that when Airbus brought the 380 in to woo Northwest several years ago, it was at a gate at the Humphrey terminal.

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I might have asked this but can't remember. There is a signal for the trains toward the east end of the Washington Ave. Bridge for trains going east and another one at the end of the Stadium Village platform going west that are never on, does anyone know what these are for?

Why are they redecking the bridge at all? Seems like it was done not too long ago, and looks to be in pretty good shape.

Re: Fort Snelling Upper Post
From what I remember Minneapolis Fire responds to the hospital and St Paul responds to the vet's home across the street(this may have changed, it's been a while) As for Fort Snelling itself, probably HCSO or DNR has everything else except the military stuff and the federal building which had their o...

They already are double tracking near MPLS Jct, although I do agree triple tracking would help. Especially if/when we get more Northstar service.

Not real often, probably 5-6 times a day, and they only go about 5 mph across the bridge.

Re: Freight Rail News and Happenings
CP's vehicle offloading facility is not far to the east/southeast of the area BNSF is buying. Yes, the siding there has been too short to fit the trains that feed it, so it has needed a longer (set of) siding(s). I currently measure the longest one at almost 3,900 feet -- I'm not sure if that's a c...
