Re: StoneBridge (2nd Street South & 11th Avenue South)
Whenever something fills in the vacant block across the street I think the feel will be much more urban as well. Jim Stanton approached the owner of that lot last year and was essentially told to go pound sand. I doubt it is developed any time in the near future, but remain hopeful that the owner c...

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory
They have (finally) begun to put some color on this thing. Just as it was shown in the rendering, the southern most rectangle portion of the building is painted white and the "smokestack" element is red. It will be interesting to see how the blue looks.

Good to hear. I did notice a couple of trucks on site this morning, so maybe they are back at it.It was a hive of activity about an hour ago.

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory
I live across the street from this project and have noticed that work has stopped (or greatly slowed down) over the past 2-3 weeks. Does anyone know what is going on with this?

Re: Star Tribune Blocks
Is it a possibility that the parking ramp will have enough reinforcement to support a future tower? If I were Ryan I would certainly look at doing so. "Vice President Rick Collins said Wednesday that Ryan Cos. will seek air rights for development on top of a parking ramp that it is proposing t...

Re: Minneapolis Armory
Agree. As has been repeated ad nauseam on this site and elsewhere, the Armory would make a great urban market a la Reading Terminal in Philadelphia. Of course there is a concern about competing with Midtown Global Market, but in my experience Midtown is typically frequented by residents of the surro...

Re: Downtown Restaurant News
I heard about the brewery concept on the radio yesterday too. There's really no way a Blue Plate brewery-concept restaurant in the North Loop won't be a huge success. Plus, getting more normally-priced restaurants in the area will be a boon in general. Some more info on the new restaurant...Courtes...

Re: 800 Washington Ave S - Vacant Site attached to Guthrie R
Yep - it's just a vacant dirt / grass lot. But the City also owns a parking lot one block away on Park & 2nd St. and has no plans the develop it in the near future.Isn't it just a vacant lot? No parking?

Re: Western Container Building Condos
Does the City have plans to repair / rebuild 5th Ave N in this area? It is pretty terrible over there.

Re: Izzy's Ice Cream Factory
The crew has also begun to construct the "smokestack" element (seen below in red). Also it appears that one of the windows on the south side of the building will not be square, but rather an asymmetrical angular shape. This is a cool/funky building and I think it will fit in great in the Mi...

Re: Vikings Stadium
Apologize for the slight detour here, but I wonder if anyone knows about the naming rights section of the new vikings stadium deal? I remember reading that of the NFL teams, all but 1 actually kept 100% of the income from selling naming rights. Even though the teams generally rely on the taxpayers ...

Thirded. I live across the street from Spill the Wine and have only dined there twice, both with GroupOns. There is nothing redeeming about that place. I hope the space doesn't stay vacant for too long.
