Re: Labeling the Transit System
If they could have somehow gotten D Line to be light rail, ridership would be crazy. At one point there was talk of interlining Rush and Riverview. But I suppose that’s dead now that Rush is BRT and Riverview is streetcar.

Re: Eagan, Apple Valley, Burnsville - General Topics
If anyone wants a laugh, the Strib has an article about pickle ball being the next big battle in all that is wrong with the world.
It's pretty hilarious.

Honestly, I am their ideal client, being someone who moved in one car trip last time. If I found 350-400sf in an older building for like 700-800 bucks I'd be down for sure.

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N
I agree City people park their cars and forget to touch them for a weeks at a time even though they have them. I think of it as more of a selling feature than as an indicator of lifestyle goals. Especially if they are moving to this building from a less urban environment and this is their first tast...

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N
I understand what you're saying. 100%. I'm just saying, as someone who works for developers, luxury condos (please note this is what we are talking about) are going to want high parking ratios. I'd also like to note that the size of the units themselves (ie much less studios that we see in luxury ap...

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N
Yeah I get the desire to control parking but if its underground and out of site, I see it as a non-issue. People buying 500k-900k condos have a lot of choice on where they park their money. And if they can't park their cars, they'll take it somewhere else. Rich people don't compromise because they c...

1.) Many, smaller retail spaces –big positive 2.) Internal windowless bedrooms galore – giant negative (maybe that’s just me) 3.) I’m worried it will look more like the elevation than the rendering once its constructed. 4.) Props for trying something different Fun fact- this was the site of my first...

ESG Architects posted an up to date rendering on their Instagram yesterday. Seems pretty similar. But posting it could be a sign that it’s in the forefront of conversations.

Re: Rice Creek Commons (TCAAP site) - Arden Hills
Let a site that is immediately adjacent to a freeway and 12 miles from the city center sit fallow while developers are busy building spec housing in Hanover, sure. Okay this isn't the Strib comments section, you can toss the attitude somewhere else. Just saying 1500 units in suburban "dense&qu...

Re: Rice Creek Commons (TCAAP site) - Arden Hills
Just put everyone our of their misery, Ramsey County! My development proposal for this site is to plant trees everywhere. Just because there is a large vacant piece of land doesn't mean it needs to become a master planned development. The location of this site has never made much sense for the kind...

Re: Ford Site Redevelopment
Hasn’t it always been the case in the past 70 years that developers build the street and infrastructure but “gift it” to cities to take care of forever after? You're for sure right, it just seems like a very significant amount and the storm/water infrastructure will need to be large because of the ...

Re: Ford Site Redevelopment
Strib reports that Ryan will be asking for $107 million in public funding to make their proposal happen. 1. That is a lot of money. 2. Maybe I am a bit checked out, but it seems this is the first explicit discussion of public funding that has been had for this site. I think everyone assumed the dev...

Maybe this will finally give 28th / Bloomington Central more of a purpose.
