Re: Soo Line Building Apartments - (501 Marquette Avenue)

This is just such a classy building.
Yes it is! Such an under-rated project given all the new construction going on. But this building would be a real treat to live in.

Re: How do you primarily get around?

Didn't feel like this necessarily warranted it's own thread, but I just spent most of the afternoon driving around taking pictures, and jeeeez it was annoying. I mean on a straightaway it was quicker than walking, but that seems to have been offset by having to circle and find parking for ten minut...

Re: Loring Vue Apartments - (415 Oak Grove Street)

Wow -- that's looking sexy! Does that greyish/silver surface material shimmer? I can't quite tell from the pics, because the windows are shimmering so brightly. If so, this thing is looking a lot cooler than what I was expecting it to be! I wouldn't say it "shimmers". But this does look n...

Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)

I drove past this yesterday and maybe it's just me, but this looks smaller in person that I thought it was going to. Even for 6 stories it seems short. I wonder if it's just that it's a full block that makes it look that way? Anyone else get that impression? I've never gotten the sense this buildin...

Re: Green Line (Central)

Got this bulletin from the Met Council today. No news in it, I don't think, but it's a cool summary of how much is really going on along the line. I'm intrigued about the mention of the Sears site as well as the former Bus Barn site (I94 and Snelling). Lots of potential on those large plots of land.

A little blurb in the latest MetCouncil press release about all the redevelopment along the Green Line. Nice to hear some things in the works. http://www.metrocouncil.org/transportation/ccorridor/newsAlerts/Development20121221.pdf "In addition, these St. Paul development projects are also in th...

Re: Snelling and University

Pretty disappointing. I doubt a mixed use development (retail/housing) would work well in such a high traffic location (noise, etc). A Walgreens is pretty uninspired though. There was a plan to replace the building a bit further south that houses the Big Top Liquor store with a combination Walgreens...

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

One thing to keep in mind is that the Vikings stadium will almost certainly have some feature opening up on its west side to the skyline, and whatever goes in here will be pretty much front and center. I'm not expecting anything massive, but maybe that could be motivation to do something unique? Ye...

Re: Green Line (Central)

The lifetime closed about two years ago but you overall point is valid. That bit of skyway is the link between the office core and the saint Paul hotel, library, river center and excel. In case anyone missed it, the building has been undergoing renovation for some time. It's being rebranded as the ...
